That’s the pic I am referring to. Short bus is taking the inside of the curve and the day cab is wrongwaying and face to face with traffic. Either he’s running without an escort or his escort is the most useless fool to ever run a beacon light.

 

This is the curve they are going around, it’s a decent uphill climb as well….

 

I'm thinking maybe the overhang was to long causing the end to drag pavement???

 

Hairpin turn with big elevation. They widened the road, even has big shoulders. I am thinking because of the elevation change in the hairpin, the cab over had just enough overhang off the back of the trailer for the beam to take all the weight off the trailer wheels, which caused the trailer to suddenly pivot and slide downhill into the guardrail.

Somebody buy that cabover a new seat!

 

Back a few years ago I had bought some new limbs and cams for my old bow. I was planning a mule deer hunt and wanted a bit more range than my 60lb bows. Got busy doing this truckin thing and haven't messed with it.

A few weeks back I finally did. The limbs crank the draw weight up to 76 lbs. Got it tuned yesterday, and took it out after the gym this morrnin to sight in.

Had a few live targets find their way onto the dead end FS road I was on. Was almost 97* by noon, with a 111* heat index.

They were safe.

On the subject of the extendable trailer and the beam, the above was a test for a project in Telluride, CO last year.

The way I try to describe it to non driving people, is - “ The trailer tandems just sit there and look at you - for way too long - before they follow the truck”

I’ve learned that Google Satellite image always looks more ‘accommodating’ than the reality. And gradient is not represented.

I think @TripleSix got it mainly right - that scrape in the pavement shows he set it up right.

I mapped the above video to grid paper and was 80% correct in my assessment once I got to the turn in question. Based on Google satellite measurements with the help of @Oxbow .

Similar situation, it was all or nothing when you got to that point - I can only imagine that the driver just guessed wrong. I try not to leave anything to chance.
