You signed paperwork when you started at the company. I can almost guarantee you signed paperwork saying you read the notice that you would be fined if you did X. Now you are being fined. This is why you ALWAYS TALK TO CURRENT DRIVERS AT A COMPANY BEFORE YOU WORK FOR IT. The fine may or may not be legal, I'm not a lawyer. I have no idea which state laws apply or if it's Federal law.
Don't sign documents you don't read. MAYBE the company can take the money out of your paycheck over several weeks or months. The lesson I would learn from your situation is tell your dispatcher what your plan is before you enact it so at least there is time to change it if the plan isn't going to work or you misunderstand. 50 years ago people could build spaceships to go to the moon. Now, people are afraid to talk on a phone.PaulMinternational and KerSplat Thank this. -

If you signed something agreeing to it they can deduct from your wages in Wisconsin. Faulty work, damage and theft for a few.

WI/CA have no tax reciprocity. Are they with-holding WI state tax or CA state tax?
