I always hated electric shavers cause mine grows fast and its thick so it always felt like they were pulling the hairs. Tried quite a few in my years, the round head ones and the straight foil shavers and cussed them all, except this one. Its the last one I ever bought and still got it. This thing is expensive and you might shop around and find a deal. But I swear this baby (for me) was ALMOST as smooth and painless as using a sink with multi razor blade units! No razor stubble left and I swear by this one, try it once and you'll be hooked. Can use it wet too, with shaving cream or water or whatever you're carrying although without a sink with running water using shaving cream can get real messy, real fast. And I dont receive any kickback or anything from this company.

Try one if you can afford it, you won't regret it!

As far as parking at truck stops, rest areas etc, chemical tank isn't any different than van or flatbed. Showers the same. Big difference is that the shippers/receivers and normally ready for you and there isn't much waiting and what there is you get paid for. As far as dealing with the surge, you will learn to drive in a way that mitigate the effects. Just takes some time.

Most tankwash showers are used by the cleaning personel at the end of their shifts.

A well managed tank wash with employees who care will have clean showers.

As mentoned above some seem to be incubation chambers for some alien life form.

Your actual tank interior cleaning may show the same degree of care.....

Years ago I worked at the rahway facility [Quadrell Bros, the original owner/builder] and it always seemed to have some who favored it over the other nearby tank washes.

Maybe the 'shaker' bar on the dead end a block away was a factor; it the bar still there?

Speaking of tankers and truck stops; Quadrel Bros. was one of the carriers doing Ro-Ro with "Marine-ized" trailers with rub rails and the tie down eyes PRIMMI required. For a customer near San Juan we used to send a dedicated unit out to Tuscola, IL to load an anesthetic based on either with a nitrogen bottle slung underneath connected to a regulator in a washout inside the rollover.

The one owner operator that ran that trip the most had a good habit to fuel in one stop but sleep at the next truck stop.

He said you could always detect a hint of the either around parked tank and somehow he always woke up with a clear space all around him.

You can use a razor to shave in the truck almost as easily as you can brush your teeth in the truck.
