The "best" right now.....& for the foreseeable future....is the one (or ones) that will actually hire you.....& put you through a respectable training program....to become a professional-level driver.
The following is a list of some that you should try....but it's by no means totally inclusive (there are others):
Stay away from any/all "dollar store" accounts....for beginner jobs.
- Swift
- Knight
- Werner
- Roehl
Dry van will offer the shortest (& flattest) learning curve....for developing the skill sets needed to drive a big rig.
The others are harder....& more complicated.
I stayed with dry van for 6 months....then went intermodal (better pay, home weekly)...then after 2 years, went tanker.

Albertaflatbed, Concorde, firemedic2816 and 2 others Thank this.

May
Heartland Express
Swift
CR England
Covenant
CRST
Couple others like Schneider said I was out of their area or mo positions in the area at present.
One thing that stood out about Heartland was that lots of reviewers, even negative ones, said they keep their equipment in good shape. -

Why are you still there? -
I went to 160 Driving Academy. They got the job done. Went through with a class of 3 guys, we all passed CDL test first attempt. Tester told me only slightly more than 50% pass first attempt in Oregon but the 160 Driving Academy guys tend to do a lot better than that.
I was a satisfied customer. -
I will say I am leaning Heartland so far. After their training on location for 4 weeks they send you out with a trainer for 15k miles. May was other end of spectrum, like a week or two and you are on the road.
Most places offer tuition reimbursement. -
Of that list I'd put May as first choice.
You'll see a lot of the country with May OTR, including lots of Florida runs.
- 95% No-Touch Freight

Upside is training/orientation is only about 60 miles from home. A little long for daily commute but home on weekends.
Downside is they are now recruiting for November class. A bit longer wait. But that is transient concern.Chinatown Thanks this.
