AC on in daytime blowing ice cold. Thing is truck wasnt like this 3 weeks ago. My temps would never go past 190 fully loaded being 100 degrees outside it normally ran 176-180 all the time and maybe jumped a little when hitting a overpass or hill.

If it’s blocked air flow, A/C might not work as well when parked. Condenser may stay hot from high pressure. Causing the engine fan to run more. Can’t pull air through radiator. A/C works fine going down the road. Plenty air hitting it.

It's helpful to me with an older Pete where the gauges are 5% or more off.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Definitely the clogged radiator as mentioned above, but A/C is usually a complaint there too.
Yes, You can have issues with a turbo that quick.
Has your engine oil temp increased also?Last edited: Aug 23, 2024

Well we found the problem finally its gotten worse and brought the truck back home had a driver pickup the loaded trailer finish the run. Truck started to make a whistling sound coming from exhaust while on idle and a humming noise while running and some loss of power, if you put your ear close enough you could hear the motor has a puff puff puff noise coming from somewhere. We ran some test at the yard AGAIN CAC pressure no leaks again anywhere we moved on to remove intake manifold hose and start truck and run at idle if you put your hand over the intake manifold it is sucking air in but also you feel some air hitting your palm back slight hit there is some back pressure the more you rev the truck the more it tries to suck in air but there is also a small hit of air hitting your palm and it increases as you hit higher rpms, and looks like its a valve, could be some valves not closing right, we dont know yet until we take the head off and see whats happening. Makes sense now why its running so hot, the loss of power. Ill keep you posted about what we find

Don’t know exactly how you checked the Cac. Make sure the 1” air intake hose from air compressor to manifold isn’t leaking. Usually it fails and leaks at the compressor. It’s often plumbed in on the back side of compressor, between compressor and block. It’s hard to see and access.

So please tell me you’re going to check the valve lash before you pull the head…. It’s fairly common for Detroits to get to where the intake valves are almost open because of wear….they only start at.006 if I remember right….we usually set them at 10
DetroitDudeBro, Rideandrepair and jamespmack Thank this.
