By the look of the boom where it struck he had it up without the stick folded in. There needs to be a competency test for drivers loading them and securing their loads. Hard to tell but it looks like this would not have happened if it was loaded correctly.

i remember reading the permit and then trying to find a red pen.

Alabama got rid of the red pen thing at least 4 years ago. Now you don't even need to sign it is it's on a phone or tablet. Still supposed to sign if it's paper.

CAXPT, cke and Feedman Thank this.

20240825_112159.jpg Ok, I know, not rigs here, but this load I could swear was "strapped down" purposefully to fall off on the highway. The back strap was just flopping around and not holding anything. It's doing good just to hold itself. But to make things worse, each"stack" of wood is bunched together. So if one comes off, a few come off. I watched this load bounce down the road and I don't know how it did not fall off. It's a mini dump trailer. Put the wood inside not on top. He had nothing else in there.

The top is still on the sleeper, so obviously it had to be sticking way up above that.

In light of quarries not letting dump trucks leave overweight, at least not around here, one could blame the shipper for letting the idiot leave probably 2 feet overheight.
