Indeed. I forgot to mention that in my last reply. And these drivers are nuts down here around Tampa! Some of the worst in the country, IMO.
In fact, after being local for the last year or more, I'm getting ready to go back OTR, for better money, and easier driving!

I’m not sure on that, CFT is all class A if that’s who you’re referring to, way back in the day they had B, back when they were Patco.

One of the problems is your not a newbie or just out of truck driver school. You know too much and probably won't take the slap newer drivers will and be bullied around by a company. Looking for a driving job today is not so much finding a good company, but finding one that you can put-up with. There are very few really good/honest companies today. The advent of trucking schools churned-out hundreds of thousands of new drivers over the years and 'once good/decent companies' saw they opportunity to pay low wages for desperate people looking to drive a truck. The industry began to babysit drivers, micromanage and got the idea that they have the maket-not the drivers. Thus many fell to the depths of becoming bottom-feeders for the industry and felt no need to keep old drivers demanding decent conditions/pay. I know how they operate and younger/newer drivers are much easier for them to push around. However, there are many in the South that would hire you no problem.PSBindy Thanks this. -
Don't know if you have commercial farms or dairies near you.... But our commercial dairy and company has had multiple drivers over 70 and my father in law worked up to 85 even though he couldn't keep his medical card running chop trucks within 10 miles of the farm. Might not be as much $ as OTR etc but ours isn't bad depending on how much you want to work. Our local divers are paid hourly and no ELD .... And there's definitely enough work year round to work 20 hr days if you wanted.
