The travel permit is what you should get from your probation officer. It is authorization or permission by the probation officer to leave the county or state. I know, I was on probation at one time and had one too.

 

There is lots of local work in Austin due to the ongoing construction there. Try ready-mix companies (Texas Materials, Lauren Concrete, Tex Mix, etc. ) and construction companies like Ranger Excavating and their competition.

Also, my buddy of mine who had a felony conviction for credit card abuse got hired on by R&R out of Bulverde to haul lime. So you might see who hauls out of the lime plant up at the north end of Mopac, and the cement plants around Buda and New Braunfels.

If Schneider takes you, I’d definitely go there. I work for them, it’s not bad. If they don’t take you, your only other option is going to be western express, I’d rather work at Amazon than western express. But, to each their own. I did work western express and I do work for Schneider.

 

Yeah that is understandable about waiting. I never even had to show it to anybody while I was out on the road on probation. I never got inspected while I was on probation, either. But in the event some hard-nosed inspector or cop wants to see it when you are anything outside your county or out of Texas, just show that bad boy (travel permit) and all should be okay.
