Most times you see someone riding a motorcycle when it's really cold or raining hard .
It's the only way they have to get around or they just bought it and absolutely have to go for a ride. I've been there on both occasions.

This reminds me of this story- When Nikita Khrushchev was forced out as leader of the Soviet Union, he sat down and wrote two letters to his successor Leonid Brezhnev. He said, “When you get yourself into a situation you can’t get out of, open the first letter, and you’ll be safe. When you get yourself into another situation you can’t get out of, open the second letter”. Brezhnev soon found himself in a difficult situation, so he opened the first letter. It said, “Blame everything on me”. So he blamed Khrushchev for everything, and it worked. Eventually, he got himself into a second difficult situation he couldn’t get out of, so he opened the second letter. It said, “Sit down, and write two letters”.

happens a lot. He came here about to lose house and jeep. Now he set!
    Ok.

So what happens if a driver skips the pre-trip inspection and gets in an accident?

If a driver neglects the pre-trip inspection and there is an accident, they could be held liable for any damages caused if the cause of the accident was a defect that the driver knew or should have known about. This would be in addition to any liability held by the carrier and their insurance company. While a driver’s actions might make them liable for an accident regardless, a record of neglecting their own vehicle would certainly not help their case.

Thats the way a lawyer will see it.
Guess he just thinks he’ll get me in trouble not himself.

Right or wrong, I think the reality is that he has little to lose compared to you, and the "trouble" will chase the dollars.
