Did you see that cross over mashup show… “Life below Zero” and “Naked and Alone”???

    “Naked below Zero”

    It didn’t go well.

At those temps, don’t you run you the engine to keep the fuel from jelling up? Or am I missing something?

Would be interested to hear your experiences in both winter and summer with that setup. Give me a call once you have a year in it.

    IH9300SBA and Silverdriver Thank this.

I was going to start driving again and then I saw your post.
Literally I started cracking up...laughter really hard! I had to put the truck back into parking!

Because I've seen some shows and the one naked below zero... let's just say very interesting! Lol :D:rolleyes:

On home time I keep the APU running for heat so that I don't freeze all of my food, water, electronics, etc. Plus, now that i know it works, I run an extension cord from the apu outlets to the block heater.

The fuel additives help stop the truck from jelling up. Without them, it's going to jell up whether it's running or not.

No APU? Does it have anything to provide power while the truck is off? Opti-idle? Anything?

    IH9300SBA Thanks this.

What are the chances that i get to the yard and my truck refuses to start? It’s been sitting there for a week. No anti gel in tanks because i didn’t realize how cold it was supposed to get, plus i was supposed to leave before this extreme weather

Tell the judge you're a bootlicker, and he'll let you go.

Truck started but it didn’t like it. I’m at Lozier now picking up a different trailer that’s also going to the same place in Baltimore.

Told my DM that i would like to go back to SWR. I’ve been watching a show for the past few weeks that really opened my eyes to the drawbacks of taking the time you have for granted, and really impacted me to try and be home more often and enjoy more moments with friends and family

What’s the name of the show you’re watching?

I have been having those same thoughts since my father passed away Thanksgiving day. I don’t feel trucking is conducive to that kind of life.
