Funny how guys like that are always big shots on the road when they drive and like to run people off the road . U approach them in person and they are biggest fat pieces of #### a guy could ever lay eyes on.... it's to bad their mother made the decision to give them life

You're right. The problem with road ragers is they never consider the willingness of the other person to end their life. There are a lot of folks in the world that shoot people for less. I'd hate to know my family got left high and dry because I couldn't control my temper. But hey, lots of things go on in this world that are head scratchers to me.

It usually takes a service call and the service tech or mechanic some time before even he figures out the problem.
I’ve never heard or stuck around to ask, but I have always wondered what reason the dumb ### would give for him needing a service call:D
Not that I’ve ever done anything like that!!!:)

You put a dime inbetween the gladhands.

You put a quarter BEHIND the glad hand gasket. Fits right in the Grove, but still allows everything to get hooked up.

Taking it up just a notch....... gotta love it!

I used to pull the quarter bit on stubborn students that were too #### lazy & did not want to pre-trip.

100% of the time, they could never figure out what the hell was wrong.

Pulled that on one of my best guys I had, just as a joke.

He figured it out in under 10min.

I ended up not delivering in VA last night. Used a little more time hunting an empty trailer than expected, and it would've been close on my 14 to get in, drop/hook and get back to Raphine (the only place I would be able to find parking at that time of night). So, it'll be some extra miles to start next week on, plus I am planned on a load out of Hershey's going back to Edwardsville for Sunday.

Not to derail the thread but in a younger life I worked as a Carman on the railroad. The dude that connects the hoses and did brake checks on the trains when they still used cabooses. A dude uncoupled an air hose, removed the gasket and dropped a ping pong ball into the fitting, will just fit as its 1-1/4" inside diameter. The air in a trainline moves back and forth when in operation. They finally narrowed it down to a block of 5 cars and shopped the whole cut and it took a while for the mechanics to find that little trick.

A lot of people might be questioning Snackbar's decision to go back. But, one of the other drivers on this thread mentioned they are still getting raises. I'm assuming both Crete and Shaffer are buying new trucks and new trailers on a yearly basis as well.

There's something to be said about all of that. I don't think many OTR companies are giving out raises anymore, which let's all be honest said raises probably at best kept pace with inflation, and that's at best.

I think Snackbars in a good place with lots of stability. Crete/Shaffer will survive because they have such a large volume of trucks. Snackbar will deal with the usual OTR and the Shaffer BS that he's described at length in this thread, but at least he's still getting a raise each year. That's more than most mid sized and small OTR companies can say.

While I think this will be a good fit for Snackbar this time around, the good thing about his threads is that he doesn't sugar coat anything. So if the company starts pulling some BS on Snackbar and the other drivers, we will all know about it unfiltered from Snackbar.
