Cummins hands down pulls better, especially if they have the transmission locked in retard(economy) mode. I probably wouldn't have nearly as much hate for Freightliners if they would let us put it in either manual or let it come out of economy mode when needed. Moore had the mDrive in their Macks, and they weren't nearly as much of a PITA to drive because we could put in manual and had performance mode. They didn't have creep mode for backing, but other than that they were a lot less aggravating to drive, especially in traffic or the mountains. And my Moore Mack got similar mileage pulling heavy glass loads as this castrated Freightliner.

Got loaded in Salisbury NC with another dry load. Really nice people, but a challenging place to back up to. Not because it was tight, but because you had to back off a 2 lane up such a steep uphill, then it levels out at the top so your truck is sitting down hill, but the trailer is level. There is enough of an incline, with the landing gear wound all the way up were only about an inch off the ground. My auto-box did not like backing up that hill. It took them all of about 15-20 minutes to put just under 40k of some sort of powder going to a Unilever plant that makes soap. The chemical made the whole building smell like a Peelot truckstop in August during a drought.
And this is about as balanced as you're ever gonna get

Friend, hotrod1653, hope not dumb twucker and 9 others Thank this. -
Our Freightliners are unrestricted for the most part. I can put mine in manual mode or performance mode, change settings regarding the cruise control and engine idle speed. I can even turn creep mode off if i wanted to

To continue the conversation on the shower power, FCC must have it also. Last month I fueled 700 gallons at PFJ and I have shower power for April.
