Predatory towing in Michigan, truck damage and $3500 fee.

Whow, that's just west of Romulus, MI. I've always struggled to find a gym to workout at and find it difficult even with just my semi while leaving the trailer at the truck stop because of these types of restrictions & possibilities of being towed like this. That's a lot of money for a basic tow tp just give away. I will just have to stick to my home time workouts when possible oppose losing that kind of cash.

I don't even trust Walmart.

 

Better to get permission at a truck stop and get it in writing or a paid receipt. Worth the fee.

 

So if I read it right you were actually in the truck when they were preparing to tow it?
Wtf were you doing I can’t imagine that you would not have noticed this happening.
I really don’t know anything about the situation but you probably would have had a lot better handle on them if you’d have just sat back and enjoyed the ride and then threatened to sue them after you had been towed to their yard….

 

They would need a valid reason to tow you otherwise the police would of stopped them the fact that the cops said they could do nothing meant that the tow was lawful. As to how much they can charge that is a bit steep, perhaps pay more attention to posted notices in future may save you quite a few dollars.

 

Tow truck companies would never do that!!

 

If this is the sign that’s posted at the parking lot in question, this is a closed argument. Reading and comprehension is a minimum requirement in life, especially as an adult.

the city is looking into putting in laws for maximum pricing and such
