DO employers wait until you apply to other COs to update your DAC

How much sleep have you lost over this issue?

 

At least half of trucking companies don't report/consult DAC (hireright.com). It's possible your previous employer doesn't subscribe to DAC and will never report anything to DAC.

 

If they have not put anything on the DAC even several months after you resigned and you are still worried about what they might put in there if you apply to other companies and you want a heads up about what is going on there.... lost cause.

If you have to apply somewhere before they add something to your DAC, the battle is already lost.
So stop worrying about it and get back to work, if that is what you want to do.
The more time you waste, the less chance anyone will want to hire you.

 

I could write a new comment, but my comment in this THREAD applies here, especially the last part.

 

In all honesty, I am not sure my comment is a direct answer to the question—just two things to remember. First, don't allow a large amount of time to go by between jobs. This creates a "gap" that in itself can be negative. Also, DAC/Hireright, like all the other companies that maintain databases, logs inquiries. My son-in-law was telling me a while back about an Army Sgt Major who had a credit application denied because of too many inquiries. He is in the middle of a divorce, and his wife has ruined them.

I can tell you this. If your employer has reported, go look at the summary. If the dates worked show an end date and your rehire status is at least review before hiring, you should be good to go. I doubt anything extra will go on your DAC.

 

There is no law that forces employers to use (or not use) DAC. Many employers don't use it at all. It's very much like a credit reporting agency. No usage laws associated with it other than privacy concerns.

I'm sure there's a time limit to add to it. Call HireRight for an accurate answer. If you want to know what your former employer's intentions are after you talk to HireRight than call and ask them directly.

 

There is no "set time" for a company to enter past employment in DAC. Most will do it within a week after termination. They can't enter before termination and can't add anything after entered.
