I can't afford to come over. They have a 60 day waiting period for insurance (unless you time it perfect becomes a 75-90 day waiting period). There is no way I could ask my wife to do without her meds that long, and I darn sure don't have $4-5000 to cover it out of pocket
Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

Speed_Drums, Friend, D.Tibbitt and 4 others Thank this. -
You have a wife, so your circumstances are different. 2100mi weeks are like my bare minimum. Though if the economy goes tits up, idk
Friend, Knucklehead, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
Get her an ACA plan - probably max out at $500 a month, likely less, plus you'll probably be eligible for a $200 per month tax credit.
Get her situated, then you can make decisions based on logic, not fear.Friend, Knucklehead, Lonesome and 8 others Thank this. -
It better match up to what you actually did. Trucking on paper because the ELD is down ain't the same as trucking on paper logs before 2017 or 2019 or whenever the ELD mandate became the rule... I was trucking on paper until 2022. Still made sure fuel stops and tolls matched up perfect.Speed_Drums, Friend, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this.

Good ol PeopleNet. “Have you tried turning it on and off?” Have you tried chucking that piece of junk out the window? “Sorry boss, I rolled down the window for some fresh air, and it just flew out the window like my only stack of BOLs!”
“Sir, your unit shows you in driving status. You must be parked for me to help you with your unit. I cannot help you while you are driving. Please call back later. Thank you, goodbye!”Friend, Gearjammin' Penguin, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -

Peoplenet server and truck are not communicating.Worked with Peoplenet to the point of them disconnecting me.Could only understand 1 out of 3 words she spoke anyway.
Friend, D.Tibbitt and Knucklehead Thank this. -
I've been thinking, if theyre going to force this eld down our throat, A) it should work, and B)be on a dedicated tablet. They load these tablets down with so much junk, if something breaks, you're sol on logs and have to use paper logs and get to a shop ASAP. If it was dedicated tablet to just logs, then at least when the GPS goes out it doesn't mess up everything.

No 401k match
You have to do a PM service every 10k miles (or if they don't call it a PM, then a "checkup" every 10k miles), 2.5 - 3 times more often than what most fleets do, which is essentially time you're not paid for and almost always scheduled inconveniently (many times during a drivers 10 hour break).
They'll put you in a dirty, rundown, high mileage "loaner truck" rather than pay you and pay for your hotel room if the truck is going to be in the shop for more than a few days. They don't care that your original truck is supposed to be your home.
Drivers have fuel solutions with partial fills, you have to ask permission from dispatch to request a new fuel stop, you can only fuel DEF at the terminals to the point where common sense goes out the window and you have drivers wondering if they can make it back to the terminal before running out of DEF, 1 day off for every 7 days worked, lower CPM than most non starter companies.
I'm not saying FCC is a bad company, I've never worked for them. But, everything I just stated comes directly from their drivers in your FCC thread and are things that most drivers would view as negative.
I think acting like FCC is way better than Crete/Shaffer is a stretch.
