The ship was from some postcard he had.
He was in the navy, found their unit citation on the USS Enterprise during Vietnam.
His DD214 etc.
And stuff I gave him as a kid, cards and such, I didn’t know he kept them.
I’d forgotten about them.![]()

I know he said they changed skippers during his time, and the new one wasn’t shellback, and the new skipper said they didn’t have time to stop and do it.
That didn’t happen, and they sailed, the skipper had his shellback initiation when they crossed the equator like everybody else that hadn’t crossed before. -

I just ate, well tried, no appetite I ate some and threw rest in trash. First time since Saturday and can’t remember what I ate then.
I’m sitting here, his chair is empty, not used to that as he’s been in it a year and a half.
I had to use his phone to call/get numbers to people I didn’t have in mine, still got one sister I can’t get ahold of, seen a text from him to my sister who was using her husbands phone if him saying if I hadn’t been helping he’d been in a nursing home, that was April, and he said he figured he’d die alone.
Well he didn’t I was here in my chair and noticed his breathing changed, he had his eyes closed, but he opened them, looked at the big mural on the wall, then the AC vent at the top, I asked if he was ok, he never said anything.. or made a recognition movement, I got up and stood infront of him by walker, he closed his eyes and breathing slowed way down then stopped.
So I know it wasn’t like pain or heart stopping or grabbing chest or anything, he was reclined back, one knee drawn up, and was still in that position, but chin down on his chest…
He always laid his water bottle down to see the tv, he wanted Gatorade, I got that for him, he took a drink, I had to set it back on the table, then about 20 minutes after that he died.. i haven’t poured them out yet or anything. His medicine still there by tv.
2.5 cartons of his cigarettes.
tv still on same channel,
I dunno, just not messing with it right now.pnw guy, IH9300SBA, homeskillet and 17 others Thank this.
