Those broker loads are crap!!! But if you ever get a apple broker load out of washington grab it. I had one and it was awesome, and I got a 50 lb box of awesome apples, but alas that only happened when I first started. As for Conely's mechanics

Thanks Dewman i am glad there are a few positive people out there, not just talking about how awful trucking is and how hard all the companies screw you. I am happy to have the job and it sounds like if i work hard i can go as far as i want. Are any of you guys on dedicated routes or western eleven, and how long did it take you to get it? thanks agian

Western dedicated takes 3 months to get on.. As far as someone being positive.. Its because your going to come to central.. Either you won't be able to pass the cdl test.. Or you'll figure out when your with your trainer that trucking isn't for you.. Then if you pass that.. You'll most likely get assigned a piece of crap truck or maybe a brand new one.. Either way.. You'll be in the shop all the time.. You'll start making 82 dollar checks or worse..
3 months in.. L/o will start tempting you like crazy to get a brand new truck.. You have a turd now.. So that shiney red black or white truck is lookin good to ya.. Hell its worth those 800 dollars a week.. Then you'll figure out its not a money maker but something that keeps you from home 7 8 9 weeks at a time and your fighting and fighting to catch up out of the negative.. And it just can't happen...
So maybe instead of just saying thanks for being positive, so many other ding dongs are negative.. Maybe you should listen to some of us.. And for the headaches and stress the job gives you because there's 5 drivers for every 1 load.. Maybe that local job paying 7.25 an hour isn't so bad.. Because for your first few years.. Trucking isn't a saving grace at all..Panhandle flash, jess-juju and jjranch Thank this. -
I was thinking about your DPF issues you have had.
I remember when Central was first looking at the 2007 Volvo's. They got mad at Volvo when they were told that they could not turn the engines down, or it would break the warranty.
Thus they were not going to buy Volvo's with a DPF.
I think this may be part of your issues that Central is having with the new Cummins. The engine cannot make enough heat too burn off properly with the HP and Torque turned down.
We use the same engine, well a 460 horse Cummins in our trucks. Accept for the issues with the injector going out on the turbo, no other issues have been found. We have 2000 of these trucks with that engine.
I have never had to do an active regen. It always happens while rolling down the road. I have heard that some drivers that idled more than I do had some issues and had to active regen, because it does not make the heat at idle.Dark_Majesty_06 Thanks this. -
Thanks chrome.. I guess I'm not the only one thinking that turning down trucks as badly as central turns ours down, is going to cause problems.. I did find out that I haven't had a lube or fuel filter change since january of this year.. So I stopped and got a lube, new filters and a check up..
I'm hauling 14k across 70 with no wind.. Good tire pressure.. Dunno bout my alignment and I'm only seeing 5.8 at 65.. That's ridiculous.. After kw "baked" my dpf filter.. My mpg and power is worse than when it wasn't regenin correctly.. I'm hoping that maybe my fuel filters were bad and just so happened to act up after my dpf is fixed.. Because if not.. It means more down time for me at cummims.. And I just can't afford anything else to bite me in the rear end for a few months... -

What experiences do you have driving etc. There is so much to the lifestyle it is hard to cut to the nut. The company is what it says it is and the treatment is pretty typical. When it is their favor they win.
That is not being negative, but realistic and true. I feel confident that you will receive the same from those who came before me.HiWay Preacher Thanks this.
