Great plains transport not so great

I wonder if that’s one of the ones I saw the other day. They loaded at Simplot there in GF.

 

I used to see them loading down in Nogales AZ at a couple different produce warehouses. I guess those days are long gone.

 

Last one I saw was maybe a month ago near Milwaukee but that’s it. I’m even surprised they are still in business… what’s left of that company anyways.

 

Last I heard they are down to less then 40 trucks and it wouldn't surprise me if those are gone.

 

When I stopped by my company’s yard there were no gpt trailers anywhere to be seen… gpt’s old yard, the gas station in town or the truck repair shop at the next exit. Either he managed to get rid of them or he has them even more scattered elsewhere. Seems weird seeing the building without the familiar blue sign. (Why they wasted money on that sign is beyond me, it was barely visible from the freeway.)

funny there’s still no news or announcements to be found on them… other than some bankruptcy stuff that’s in some online court archives.

 

Smart move in this economy.

Just heard more people were let go at the company.

 

Just saw one of their trucks at a shipper in AZ. I guess somehow they’re still hanging on.
