Got 2 preplans. Pu a preloaded trailer in Gainesville GA in the morning, live unloads in Elkton, MD Saturday evening. Then pick up a preloaded trailer in Vineland, NJ headed to a live unload in College Park, GA for Monday, late morning. (Not Costco unfortunately).

I don't know if this has ever been said but has SSB thought about just saying to hell with this industry altogether? Because I'm seriously considering it. He hasn't been happy for years, and when he has, it hasn't been for very long.
I told myself when I first got my CDL that I'd be ###### if I was driving a truck for 40 years. 4.5 years and I'm almost at that point. I'm burned out. Physical and mental stress both on the road and at home. Not to mention my physical health. I've put on 100 lbs since I started driving. That's not healthy no matter how you try to look at it. And to add insult to injury, I figured out that at the end of the day, I never made a whole lot more money than I did stocking shelves at Walmart when you factor in time I actually worked.
I'm at my limit. My current CDL expires on 5/11/2027. It's not getting renewed past that, and I will downgrade it to a regular drivers license at that time. This industry just isn't worth it. -
I feel that way about vans, reefers, and OTR in general. I pull tanks, out 5 or 6 days longer if I choose. Part of it is the deadhead miles back home each week. There’s no way I’d still be driving had a not got into bulk.
074344, Lonesome, BeHereNow97 and 2 others Thank this.
