That article is from a month ago, the recently introduced bill doesn't mention any income cap. If this was a settled issue with clearly defined qualifications, it could be argued that spending the time and effort to run a cost/benefit analysis for people in the very narrow border area makes sense. For me, I'd rather just earn as much as I can and not worry about gaming the system to get a government handout.TexasRiverRat, McUzi, ElmerFudpucker and 3 others Thank this.

Looks like I'll be about $128k, linehual extra board. The money is nice, nights suck and the boredom is soul crushing. But the money is nice.

That makes total sense. Families making less than 100,000 pay relatively little to no income tax. They should definitely benefit from the tariffs. Just more government handouts…. Heaven forbid we do the responsible thing and pay down our debt.RushmoreTrucker, BlackjackCo, rollin coal and 1 other person Thank this.

When you give things away, it erodes value. When applied to currency, that translates to inflation.
COVID stimulus checks helped set the stage (though not the only driving force) for the very real and painful economic changes we’ve dealt with over the last few years.
When considering that tariffs are never paid by corporations since the cost is cascaded to the consumer/end user, this tariff check nonsense equates to a poorly disguised redistribution of wealth.
Redistribution of wealth is a hallmark of socialism. No thanks. Keep the tariff checks, Mr. Trump. That is of course, if this ever becomes more than just sound-bites to distract from the endless stream of new scandals.RushmoreTrucker and ColoradoLinehaul Thank this. -
Let’s watch the politics guys, but yes I do have to agree. If there’s money to spare to give away, I’d rather see it go to pay down the debt.
Priorities are important.RushmoreTrucker, BlackjackCo, kylefitzy and 3 others Thank this. -

Good job bro. I barely made $115,053 down from 130K+ last year but I'm still thankful. I ran all year, worked extra when I could, I'm in got health and am in a good financial situation. Blessed to even be here.
Merry Christmas everyone. God bless and keep on truckin'ColoradoLinehaul, Cardfan89 and Gomer1969 Thank this.
