Reality check unless you run for Walmart, FedEx or UPS pretty much universally all the bragging rights for joining the six-figure club translates into meaning “no home time for me this year” in most cases for most of us. This industry just cracks me up the longer I dive into it. No driver is running five days a week or any days per week keeping a two day off ratio per five days out and taking a vacation and making six figures….forget a another couple breaks in there somewhere or some holidays off, you know like a normal job and making six figures. Ain’t happening… The only ones of us that are making six figures have sold our souls to this industry and we stay out on the road indefinitely.

I'm at 105k this year working 5 days a week and not a single 6th day. I also took 5 weeks off to care for my spouse this summer. Add in 3 weeks of vacation on top of that and a few days off last winter unpaid by choice cause of weather. I average around 50 hours a week running linehaul.

Good fuel companies and the upper half of LTL Linehaul companies can do it. But you needed to be in a decent paying area, not be looking for a job now, and be willing to turn 12+ hour days.

But yeah, unless you're lucky, ain't happening.

There’s others out there. I’m at almost 105 this year. That’s Mon-Friday. I got delayed & came in at 9am 1 Saturday morning. Got 9 paid holidays, 3 weeks vacation & took 7 personal days. Carried a few over for next year. That’s multi stop steel loads. It’s work, but I enjoy it.

Yeah this ain't true bro. Barebones my run pays 104K WITHOUT drop and hook pay, holidays, bonuses, etc. I work Monday night to Saturday morning. If you want to work extra you can if it's available. If I was going out of town I still would've made way more.

I work 52hrs a week, home daily, 100% drop and hook, weekends off. I made $130,000 this year and that's down $16,000 from last year. I don't work for WM, FedEx, or UPS. There are some great jobs out there if you look into it.

I'm going to start running extra to build the savings account back up from the Christmas holiday. It drives me nuts to make less than the previous year.
