Don't believe the hype, $150k-$300k a year is lowball-- you should score $500k-$600k easily your first 6 months.

You are very right ! Too many "speak" that game, yet can not actually prove it. I admit that every part of our industry is hurting, and I know the moving industry has taken a hard hit over the yrs,yet there are still ways to make really good money...it is simply a matter of making good choices, finding ways to manipulate the systems to recover portions of the deficits, and adapting to the changes...along with some good luck as well.

All in favor of Heavydude posting his 1099! Let's see it!:Transportation cost

At $1.65 a mile running 4000 miles a week for 52 weeks I am coming up with $316,800 gross. That is really high balling it!

    Rerun8963 and Jarhed1964 Thank this.

I once had no hesitations about spending too much money on a new truck every 3 yrs,and spending too #### much on custom sleepers,or dropping thousands of $$$$'s at a chrome shop, but now use more of a common sense approach, and cutback where needed, and to hell with a show truck, and tons of chrome, stainless, and LED's ! It is tough every where...we just need to make more sensible choices.

It is impossible to do those #'s ! First...no one runs steady for the entire 52 weeks, and too much **** happens anymore to have that sort of stability ! Those #'s are only possible if one is in the HHG industry, team car hauling, team specialized,or a multiple truck owner.

That is why I put "high balling it" in there.

The said the add stated 150K - 300K a year.

I'm sure he picked up one of the O/O mags that they have sitting around. I've passed 150K gross already this year.

I have seen a handful of companies advertising "make $200k as a solo",& $300k as teams, yet have spoken with a few of them, and they showed me nothing but alot of "hype". It is possible in the freight biz,but only with all the cards placed just right, and only with a really sound business sense.

By no means am I on here to down anyone, nor to attempt to "show" someone up,yet I do believe that if one talks such "hype",or does make attempts at "downing" others, then he should certainly "put up,or shut up" !!
