BPatterson....
All that your doing is making excuses trying to justify your turn. You don't need to do that. The point is you didn't get into an accident. So for future reference, pay more attention & don't let this little #### bother you.
Almost got into a accident last night.

The accident would be your fault because the other driver was already on that road, and therefore has priority. Since you were turning onto the road you have to yield.

Just glad that nothing bad happeded

We all see people leave their signals on all the time. All I'll say is defense, defense, defense!
"We all" is like y'all so w'all!
-
How dare he signal before he made his turn...I don't know why they have those blinkers anyway
How rude of him to take the turn he needed instead of turning where it would have been more convienent to you
Exactly he should not have signaled UNTIL he was already turning or not at all...the inconsiderate S.O.B.
ya know I always make my turns going at LEAST 5 mph over the posted speed limit
there again how rude of him to inconvenience you! 10 whole seconds my god that's an eternity
Wow you sure were lucky obviously this guy is a menace and needs to be punished
Obviously you have been extremely shaken by your horrendous ordeal
I could barely understand that gibberish you posted except you HAMMERED down !
WOW 5 or 6 trips as a passenger in a big truck
they should give you a CDL cause you really know what it's like out there......man I wish I had your experience out there...I've only logged over 200,000 miles in a truck so I am in no way as much of a veteran as you are

Patterson, the fault lies squarely on your shoulders, if you don't like the answers to your question, then don't ask the question.
You screwed up and got lucky you didn't get killed....learn from your mistake and move on with life.
Had there been an actual accident it would have been your fault...cut and dry.
We have all pulled some thing dumb and learned from it....it's part of life.rocknroll nik, bullhaulerswife and GuysLady Thank this. -
Maybe he wanted to turn but changed his mind because it was the next intersection that he wanted.
Or he saw that you were inching out there and he saw an opportunity to total out his car and get insurance money for his hurt back (which no one can prove otherwise).
He did signal his intention to turn. You are at a stop sign. You may only proceed when it is safe to do so. There is your answer. -
I can see Pattersons reasoning here. The other guy is signaling to turn and doesn't turn. On the other hand, we sometimes signal a turn which could be into one of 4 driveways approaching. We know we want to turn into one of these driveways, just not sure which one, right? And then there's contributory negligence, where each driver is equally guilty of causing the accident.
BPatterson Thanks this. -
Thank you for your understanding. We both were at fault
-
If the street you were turning onto did not have a stop sign or stop lights that were red, you were at fault since you had the stop sign regardless of whether he had his blinker on or not. Don't remember that one from drivers ed? Driver with the stop sign must yield right of way.
