I didn't see any new requirement for a medical card for a CDL all the time. So far it looks the same, if you drive a CMV you have to have your medical card. However, this is the federal requirement and you be best advised to check with your own state. Some states do require you to have your medical card to make your CDL valid and some downgrade the CDL to class C if you don't have one. It makes sense to downgrade since you have to have the card if you drive a commercial vehicle.

THANX ALL........

Then they should make ALL driver's license holders have a medical card.

My favorite word: why??

Why does it make sense for someone that is temporarily disqualified?
Someone that is home on medical leave and coincidently it's time to renew, doesn't make sense. -
This is a state regulation. I think it is IN that is actually starting it in their license database to link the 2 cards. And other states are working to follow suet.
At the moment it has not gone nation wide. But I am sure that it will soon.
Kind of a pain that license is good for many years. In NY I actually did my renewal and it is now good for 8 years.
But Hazmat is only good for 2. And med card only good for 2.
