Where are you waiting at? Maybe if you let them know you are willing to fly out to pick up a truck that might make a difference (saw it mentioned here somewhere). No idea how long you should wait - that I think would be up to you and your pocket book![]()

CONGRATS! Hope you get a truck soon!norcalray Thanks this.

youll probabally be waiting a while seeing as its the time of year when freight is down and not a lot of drivers are quiting and moving around. they will also throw experienced drivers in front of you whose truck is down or is being taken out of service. i have heard of guys waiting up to a month to get a truck it all depends on the supply at times. they will fly you to another terminal to get a truck but that all depends on how many people are there waitingnorcalray Thanks this.

Question from a newbie...what are the weight lifting requirements for the work well test, 50lbs to waist or is it higher? What about the weight for the waist to shoulder lift? I can manage 75 floor to waist but really
struggle with that from waist to shoulder!
Please give me hope! Thanks!

Well, I made through the Work Well test and the DOT physical!!
Yay!!!
I have to be honest, the WW was not a cake walk.
One gal was so close but, she refused to even try to step up on the ladder!
The examiner got really upset with her and we all tried talking her through it like we did the weight carrying but, she just flat refused. My biceps are a bit sore today, but otherwise, I'm fine. I was cleared even with the prescription issues. We started with 39 and are down to 22, I think. Be sure you have a certified copy of your birth certificate, not just certified, but make sure it is from the Bureau of Vital Statistics from your state of birth. There was a big confusion over this because the recruiters did not make it plain. I brought my original (the one with the cute lil footprints
) and a certified one from the BVS. They wouldn't accept my original, so I was glad to have the other one.
Otherwise it's been study, test, study, test, study, test with log books thrown into the mix. I really butchered my log book today! Ugh!
But, I will get it figured out! We take the CDL test (for real) tomorrow morning and I think 95% will pass. I just have to remember to breathe!
I was lucky enough to get a room to myself, so I can study in peace. The study groups get too loud and sidetracked for me to get much out of them. We won't get out to the trucks until Friday...there's excitement in the air!
Even the guys get a little giddy talking about it. I'll try to keep y'all posted on how it's going.
Thank you to all who have answered questions and been so encouraging! You folks rock my world!
poolplyntrucker and Lady K Thank this. -
The weights are in a metal crate...25 pounds from floor to waist high shelf (remember to squat or loose points) three times. Then 50 pounds, same thing. Then 25 pounds from waist high shelf to eye level shelf three times, repeat with 50 pound. You do get a break in between weights, but not the three lifts, this can be a bit taxing. Then they add 25 more so you can carry 75 pounds to the back of the room and back to the front three times. The 100 pound push/pull was fairly easy. Just remember to really push hard and fast and you should be fine.
Hope this helps. If I can do it, most peeps can do it...I'm a Grandmother.
My motto: Giving up is NOT an option!

The work well test - from the paperwork I recieved:
Work well is an exam that ensures you are able to meet our job requirements. You will be performing an exam that represents the job requirements. You will need to perform the following to qualify:
- Ability to lift a series of reps consisting of 25#, 50# and 75# from floor to waist
- Ability to lift a series of reps consisting of 20#, 35# and 50# from waist to crown
- Ability to carry a series of reps consisting of 25#, 50# and 75# for the length of 53'
- Ability to pull 100#
- Ability to push 100#
- Ability to step up and down 24' for 5 reps
- All of the exam must be performed with a satisfactory blood pressure and heart rate accompanied with proper body mechanics.

Thank you sooo much Raincatcher!

Now I'm worried...why is there a contradiction between LadyK and Raincatchers post? Raincatchers doesnt say 75# from floor to waist and only says 75# to carry, not 25 and 50#?

I think that is what she actually had to do - this is copied from paperwork I recieved... I haven't had to do it yet. Maybe?? At least it sounds good anyway
