Whatever dude. You started this thread knowing full well that you'd ruffle feathers.

If you ain't figured that out in your nearly three years as a member here, you've got bigger problems than any smoker could ever create.

    Don't feed the trolls, y'all.

From the first inhalation of the cigarette smoke, the hairlike cilia in the bronchial tubes become paralyzed. Smoke and tiny debris flow freely into the lungs robbing the lungs of capacity over a lifetime of smoking. Most smokers wake in the morning in coughing fits. The cilia after a night's rest without being abused by hot smoke begin to stir to life and desperately try to rid the lungs of junk; the cilia are doing their job-- the body is saying something's WRONG, cough! That first cigarette in the morning re-paralyzes the cilia and the cycle is repeated. The nicotine high, almost imperceptible after years of smoking is definitely there. The cigarette companies are like a disease that loves to eat away at your body but not realizing your death is their death....

I am a nonsmoker the only thing that bugs me is the inconsiderate people who throw their butts on the ground. If you want to smoke then that is your business but dont litter. We have one driver who has been with the company a long time but, never gets a new truck. The reason is because he is such a heavy smoker they wont give him one. I mean ashes on the floor and burns in the matress heavy smoker. I was asked to let him use my truck while I went to lunch one day so he could go get a trailer from about 4 miles away while his truck was in the shop. When I handed him the keys I politely asked him "Please dont smoke in the truck" I came back from lunch an hour later and he isnt back because the trailer wasnt unloaded yet. Thirty minutes later he pulls in, I grab my stuff and get ready to head out. As soon as I open the door I can smell smoke and the drivers seat has a burn hole in it. I went into the shop and raised holy hades and they chewed him a new one. The truck was 2 months old and had 15,000 miles on it. They ended up ordering me a new seat cushion.

There was a local outfit that I drove for quite a few years ago. All day cabs. There were a couple of drivers that did not smoke, and if I ended up in their truck I DID NOT smoke in their truck. I was raised to be a courteous person.

    That's just completely uncalled for.

I used to work for a company that had designated nonsmoking trucks. I had to drive one of the nonsmoking trucks one time for a day. I never smoked in the truck the whole time. That was one helluva long day for me, but I know the guy who normally drove that truck (a 73 year old man with health problems) would have had a much worse day had I so much as smoked one cigarette that day.

Some people, smokers an nonsmokers alike, just have no cares for anyone other than themselves.
