Ok first off I am a newbie. Looking for my first job. So if any questions look dumb they are dumb because I am a newbie LOL.

I have an opportunity for regional north east. I live here in CT and the recruiter told me I can get home weekly for 36-48 hours. That's the best part about the offer. I'm really liking that. However I just wanted to learn some more about the company policies. I forgot to ask the recruiter today this one and I don't want to keep bugging her so I'll bug some of you instead! :biggrin_25525:

    Do the trucks have apu's?

What's their idle policy? (do you freeze in the winter and bake in the summer?

    Do they allow inverters?

That's pretty much it for right now. If I'm going to be out there on the road even if it is just regional I am going to be wanting something to do in the truck while there is down time. I think I may have ADD or something because I always have to be doing something so I can't imagine waiting on a load and not having my ps3 to play because of no inverter. Also idle policy is big for me. If I am going to be regional up here it's going to be real cold. I know a lot of these states up here have strict idling laws so maybe bunk heaters??? Thanx in advance for all answers!

Apu - some do some don't some that do don't work.

inverter no you will be fired if they find one.

ac - when it works it isn't bad. when it doesn't work it sux trying to get it fixed.

their trucks have the idle shutoff so if the icon system(if equipped with one) is messed up truck won't idle anyway. (ways around this but they will fire you for utilizing them)

HA HA HA the recruiter like all recruiters lied to you. they don't know the meaning of home time. if you get home friday they expect you to leave sunday before 8 am they want you sending in a return to work mac. doesn't matter if you got home at 11pm friday.

USA Truck don't allow you the driver to hook an inverter into your tractor. However all the trucks I have seen has had an inverter built in, it might just be the tractors with APU's, but I have seen them.

Wasn't saying the trucks don't have built in inverters. Whether they work or not is the story. Some trucks have the apu on the truck, but they have been stripped for parts to fix someone else's truck. They do have 12v plug ins though :biggrin_25525: But if you buy a 1500w inverter and put it in your truck , if caught USA will fire you on the spot. Then screw you over big time. This is due to the fact some driver did it, wired it incorrectly and ended up torching the truck.

If there is a 12v plug, you do not need a 1500w invertor to fire up a laptop,tv,etc.,a very small one will work just fine..
