23 was a good tool. 90% of the time the phone number you have is wrong. Or the sales contact. Nothing to do with me getting my rig to the dock.

Once again Swift is tripping over a dollar to save a dime. The extra fuel we burn will hopefully be self evident.

All of these cost cutting measures lately have me wondering. The extended B services.

They used to trade trucks at 500K.

Are we riding on a sinking ship?

oh man, mc 12 got me all screwed today. ####### directions told me to turn left where i should have got right, and I ended up taking a tour of downtown Danville,IL trying to find a turnaround spot.

yeah, what i like now, is that the high milage L/O trucks are being put back in service as a company truck. I've seen more and more T2000s with the swift logos on the door and bonnet. Those trucks that start with 590xxx are company trucks.....wonder if they took the fridges out of them, cause i sure would like one. =)

Yeah, they been doing that for years, lately they've been taking a good amount of Brand New IEL Lease ProStars and putting them into the fleet as company trucks as well. All sorts of colors.

Make your voice heard if you like being a solo driver. The new HOS are by design to eliminate solos. 10 hours max driving, 7 hours max then a half hour break, two midnight to 6AM consecutive rest periods to reset.

Right now a team can run 2 drivers at 11 each for 22 hours.

New HOS, the plan is to put 3 drivers in each truck driving 7 hours each then rotating for 24 hours straight daily. This will reduce the need for extended parking spaces for millions of bigrigs. This will eliminate unnecessary idling while parked because there will be no parked trucks. This (3 drivers per truck) will lower wages for each driver because each is turning in fewer miles. This (3 drivers per truck) will burn less fuel because there will be fewer trucks on the road.

I believe this is their eventual plan. For right now they are happy to starve out all the solos and make 2 driver teams on each truck that is left. Teams would never be able to complete those ridiculous resets so would be forced to run fewer hours thereby running 7 days a week, week in and week out to avoid the reset outside of hometime. But this is their plan-- it justifies closing hundreds of rest areas around the country. Fewer trucks parked for extended periods of time, more trucks on the road at all hours competing and vying for time/distance is going to lower crash risk? Right now the majority of trucks are parked overnight when conditions for driving are less favorable. But with teams a truck must run around the clock.

Speak up if you enjoy solo driving....
