Correct. I am leased TO, not lease purchase through Crete. Two separate situations.

Well i really like this thread and commend you on breaking down your profits and keeping such great records of your business!! Most O/O make a paycheck and put no thought into how much they are "actually" bringing home. Now i dont want to argue with either one of you but you have to admit that the structure of the way you are tied to crete is essentially a lease purchase, even though i completely understand it is not technically. If you were to LP with another company it would go the same way if you quit or got fired , you would either turn in the truck or pay off the balance whatever way that may be ie another lender or cash. So i do see points on both sides of these post but in the end it doesnt really matter because obviously both of you know how to run your business like a business on not just a job! Good Luck and great thread please keep us updated. Drive Safe!!!

    Okay...

I got my January P&L statement from ATBS. There's no summary with it, but I'll summarize it sometime soon, I promise. I just sent in February's receipts, so it'll be some time yet before I have that P&L statement.

I also just got done with tax paperwork and sent it off.

Today I also learned (by doing) how to service my APU (oil change, oil and fuel and air filter change). Saved myself about $140, and now that I know how to do it, it should take an hour or less. I'll be servicing it myself every couple of months at home now.

The air filter is a cast-iron (female dog) to get to with the APU mounted under the bunk, but the rest is pretty straightforward.

Have you been paying $160 to service you APU? Is this a TriPak thing? I pay less than $70 and it is that expensive because I use synthetic oil.

I have looked at the contract for a friend of mine and it is a Lease. The same as any other that allows you to own at the end. OOIDA has done a good job in getting some protections. One of the biggest is if you are locked into a single carrier as a condition of financing then no matter what they want ot call it you have the same protections and conditions as an L/P with JH Nunt, England, Prime, etc.

I will say this. I like that they make the l/p put some skin in the game. That makes a person think twice before entering and leaving a lease early.

Alright, if you are financed by Crete and have to drive for Crete then you are an L/P. You are protected under the same truth in lending laws that every other L/P has it is just Crete is smart enough to stay away from promoting it as an L/P because of the bad reputation.

And I would think that you have a higher class of L/P's at Crete (in class I am talking about running it as a business) because they make you put your own money into it.

As far as your idea that a cell phone company is keeping logs of your location that a laywer can get a hold is false. Unless you are using some tracking program like Latitude, the only information that law enforcement can get is call data with what cell site a call was conected to. Unless it was a 911 call and then e911 would give location information.

But, a lawyer can get you to provide your cell bill with call detail. They will compare call and text information with logs.

But who cares anyway. My only objection is these companies charge you for Qualcom.

Concerning cell phone tracking, read Newsweek Feb.19,2010 " The Snitch in Your Pocket " . You can also use a search engine to find lawyers and law enforcements use of cell phone tracking. Also look at lawyers.com and search for Cell Phone Privacy, then tell me I'm wrong.

Yes, and if you will reread the article you will see they mention gps at the beginning but all the issues are for location data of cell site your phone is using. The gps chip location is activated by your phone when you make 911 call or activated by court order in very specific situations. There is no historical gps data being stored on you unless you activate it with a program like latitude.
