I think she's saying you can buy a truck and chrome it out and customize it. You can even buy a cowboy hat, Wrangler jeans and boots. None of that stuff makes you a better driver. It just makes some of the ones that aren't think they are. Something like that. :biggrin_25523:

I like the picture of the guy riding his bike with the deer on his back. that's a good one bumpy....for the truck just release fifth wheel and it goes right into the dump truck...then call it a day!

Most truckers no matter the trailer they''re pulling--bull hauler, dry van, reefer, flat, tanker... have had to adjust their sleeper time to make up for hours lost waiting to get unloaded and/or reloaded in order to deliver "Just In Time" or "Can you do me a favor" loads. In 1995 I went down an embankment with a full load of lumber on the flatbed trailer behind me. I have spent the years since amazed and thankful that both I and my son walked away. If you look closely at that picture, except for divine intervention stopping that trailer those two would not have walked away from that one.

Here's a whole bunch of statistics from the FMCSA
    http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/facts-rese...facts-2005/index-2005largetruckcrashfacts.htm

It appears that the DOT classifies vans, dry and refrigerated, as "van/enclosed box", for the purpose of statistics.
    http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/facts-rese...report/large-truck-crash-facts-2005/tbl38.htm

I pull 50/50 dry and refrigerated freight and see absolutely no difference in overall transit times and customer treatment.
