My first solo run was back to this place....I didn't realize it till I got turned in behind the building ..that's when saw the lake...oh the memories...anyway...next morning (5:00 am), I go into the recieving door and make sure I'm at the right place and which one of the doors they want me to bump....the lady looks at me and says "you haven't been here before"..,..I'm thinkin...oh know ..they had cameras out there and they know what I did out there by their lake....I trembled as I said.."no..no...I have never been here before...just want to make sure I am following procedure..."

A good reason to spend some money on satellite radio - with a NOAA weather receiver in it...

Three years ago a CRST driver running down I40 near Jackson (about 70 miles east of there) unknowingly drove into a tornado at night. It threw the trailer about 1/4 of a mile from the highway, and twisted the tractor up into a pretzel. The driver didn't make it.

    The tornado always wins...

My CB has it. So does the factory Volvo stereo.

You can get a Cobra "night watch" and it is supposed to go off in severe weather.

    scottied67 Thanks this.

Only if it is on the correct channel when the alert goes off.

Drove into a tornado warning and it never went off.

I had mine disabled in the CB. It would go off for no apparent reason, whether there was power to the radio or not and scare the crap out of me. I thought my CB had a ghost.

Arrived at the Columbus terminal at midnight. Really easy day only one thing happened as I was pulling out of a rest area. I was getting onto 71 northbound and was looking to make sure the right lane was opened when all of the sudden headlights from a big truck went directly into the median.

The CB lit up man did you just see that truck go into the ditch? The guy either fell asleep or had some medical issues. A few trucks stopped to help but I was way to far up the road. Hope the driver is OK. The truck did not roll over so maybe he just fell asleep and that woke him up. Happened right before the entrance to the rest area.

I am going to take a 34 here in Columbus because I only have 6 hours to drive tomorrow. Load does not have to be there until Sunday night at 11:00PM and I am less than 200 miles away.

Goodnight all pulled in here right as my 11 was up.
