I hope you did your macro22 to cover yourself.

One time I got a load out of there. I had to be in Brundidge AL in 2 1/2hrs.

That turned into a fiasco. Live unload 2 stops. Walmart load.

You Know I thought the same thing they cant fix it if they dont know about it but Thats a crock of $&%! specially if they are owner ops glorified company drivers Not a #### thing they can do about it except offer you another wackadoo who doesnt shower or let the student shower with out begging, or perhaps a wanna be thug who gets angry when you tell him your suppose to log your Home terminal not the time thats on the truck clock and wants to sit there and F%^&*(%# argue with ya about it cause his ego's bigger than his brain and being just a student who pays attention and retains what ive learned. ( I'm in the wrong apperently) Then gets angry when your curtious to other drivers and let them go in front of you in a small ### parking lot and wants to piss and moan that you drive to slow on an off ramp that says 35mph (for cars) Another lesson retained in orientation, and Starts making false reports on ya saying that your unsafe because I choose not to haull ### every where I go and use caution on roads ive never been but seem to not cause or get into an an accident thus far in a 4 wheeler or 18 wheeler because my methods have worked so far for the last 16 years or so.. But wtf do I know Im just a Student who thinks the world revolves around me because I like to take shower once in a while, like to be talked to with the same respect That i give every one else regaurdless of what stage they are at in LIFE, or sleep on a half way decent bunk with out some one's stinky a $$ dirty underwear and socks are laying and empty soda bottles and food crumbs everywhere. But thats just my experience With the exception OF the first guy I guess its all my fault...

Currently I am just east of Lafayette La and #### tired. Seems like everyday since I went solo I have had to do 11 hours a day driving or right up to my 14. Today I pick up a load in Memphis that was T-called and was 870 pounds over on the drives.

Trailer tandems where slid as far as they can go forward. So I have to slide my 5th wheel. How the heck ya do that I have never had a truck that had a sliding 5th wheel. My trainer never even bothered to show me how but I figured all I had to do was lower the landing gear and then push the button and move it.

Hmm that did not work. So I go around the yard trying to find someone to help me and I finally find Rufus and he tells me you did right but you have to let the air out of the airbags and it will move. he was kind enough to go with me and help me.

Got it scaled and ready to roll. The only issue is man it is already 3PM and I have to be outside of Houston tomorrow. So I get to Baton Rouge, La and the traffic comes to a dead stop at the split where i10 and i12 meet. bad wreck with fatalities. Sat there for over and hour and a half before finally I am able to move.

Those SUV's where totally destroyed and they had to be traveling at a high rate of speed. My fuel stops for the past week have been all screwed up and I never have enough fuel to make it. Always got to call and get a new fuel location.

When I do my Mac 10 or loaded call and so on I always put how much fuel I currently have. Why do they always try to push me right at empty. I was on empty and my fuel stop was still 150 miles away. This happened two days ago as well. I don't want to get under a forth of a tank but they always seem to give me locations I cannot seem to reach.

The dispatcher says well this truck is showing enough fuel to make it and I said believe me I am not going to make it. Does this happen to any of you or am I doing something wrong.

    I put full at 8
    half full at 4
    quarter at 2

Have a good day! Off to bed

Do fuel calcs manually, do not use the gauge. ave 5 mpg and work it back from the last fuel stop. Example if you put 50 gal in at 5 mpg then your good for 250 miles. I never go more than 1000 miles on two 100 gal tanks before refueling even though i could. Since your not filling the tanks you must adjust for gals. 100 gallons is 500 miles etc. Make sure your next stop is less miles that your fuel solution and you'll do just fine, unless you miss your designated fuel stop.

You know what they say CYA--if you feel that you need to go slower--do so--better to be safe than sorry. You can surely bet if something happens while you are goin too fast comin off the ramp--the trainer isnt gonna take the fall for you. Better for you to go in ways that you feel comfortable with because thats your license and your life--if you cant use them over a stupid mistake--they are a waste and can costs you way more than goin the extra few mph is worth. Stay safe!

Bluebonn, if you do the 1-8 fuel thing, always go one number lower. It is a computerized fuel program that knows no different. That way you are never pushed to the limit. eg, if you are on 6, tell it 5.

Sliding the fifth wheel, always take the trailer weight off your drives by dropping your landing gear and air bags. Then it won't be in a bind. It's your job to make sure that trailer is loaded properly. So if you can, get on the dock and have some input if you are picking up less than a truck load. Them pallets need to be stretched out to the 44-48' mark if they have any weight to them.

When ever I encounter a need to go to the shop, I always call them from the road and get on their waiting list. That way your wait time is cut down some. TA is glad to do that or even the company shop manager. I do it all the time. If there is no wait, they'll tell you. If there is a wait, you just saved an hour or two.

Blubonn-- we have all been there--just for info sake--if you ever end up with a dead truck again--b4 you go calling etc--look around(especially for old geezer O/Os like me LOL)dont' be afraid to ask for help! You would be surprised how many of us have been there done that--If I had a dollar for everyone I have helped jump off in a T/S--we could all retire--now it is always courteous to have your own set of cables--and preferably already hooked up--but it might have save you a lot of aggrevation.
    best wishes.

I hope my future students don't have anything bad to say about me lol.

    See below.

Great idea! I will be trying that next time.

Wow everyone has wonderful advice today! My trainer told me a story where one of his students left the lights on all night after they parked, batteries died and it cost him $300 to have a jumpstart. I was thinking, 'hmm how much for a set of jumper cables, already hooked up?' Some other trucker will see you there and automatically know if he has the time he will be more than happy to help you probably for FREE.

The fuel you put in the blank it doesn't matter what you do. The system does what it does.

My Volvo has 2 150gal tanks. The working capacity is 142. Read the tag on your tank! When my gauge reads 1/4 (2/8ths) I actually have 1/2 a tank! I keep track of where the gauge is and how much it takes to top it off.

Reset your fuel info every time you top off. That is done with the wiper lever buttons.

When you see your fuel stop is stupid do a mac20 then send a message to your DM that you sent the 20 and you need your fuel reoptimized.

If you run out of fuel it's your fault! Unless you have the person that denied you fuel! Get everything on the Qcom!!! Back it up with a phone call!
