Good job, sometimes spending a few bucks of your own money to keep rolling is better than spending a few days in a shop someplace not making any money at all.

So far the leak on the wheel is fixed. There was some residual aroung a couple of the lug nuts. Dry today.
I delivered in Lee's Summit MO today. Rejected a 1000mi load to TX. Due to the loading time. I should have grabbed it! They sent me a live load 34mi from whhere I was live unloading. Times were the same. I rejected that twice. Now I am in Topeka sitting at the dock waiting for them to load me at DelMonte. Going to a Walmart in Loveland CO. -
I just accepted a preplan for 1386 miles thinking it will be a walk in the park. But got held up on the live unload that left me with just an hour to get started on the next load. Now I will have to turn and burn the whole 11 hours as fast as possible so as to start the 10's and get new 14's sooner boom boom to squeeze in a little bit of a third driving shift that I lost today.
Here's a blurry pic of the zip tie I used to tie back an electrical connection that has just about rubbed a hole in a steel coolant line (same thing happened to my company Volvo)Attached Files:
Rotten Thanks this. -

Yea Scottie that seems to happen to me a lot. After I accept a pre-plan I have it planned out on how many miles I need to do this day and that and when a shipper takes way to long to load me that blows my whole plan up.
Then I end up having to do full 11's or run up against my 14 all the time. Currently on this load I have to wait until midnight for hours as the DOT inspection took away my two hours of drive time that would have given me four hours to drive today.
I only have 2 but I would have to stop way out in the middle of nowhere not knowing what is around there. So I decided to sit still here and get 11 after midnight. Now I got to run my butt off to get it there ontime.scottied67 and Rotten Thank this. -
Well I learned that I had no signal with Virgin in Limon CO, and Oakley KS. I am in Troy IL hearing to Trenton OH. Hopefully home on Tuesday.
After I do home time I need to put my wagon in the shop PS, and oil leak. Fairing coming loose and the front spoiler is wiggly from a broken bracket behind it.
Some guy tried to buy the piece of the chin spoiler for $200 and a used Coleman cooler. His had red paint on it and was cracked. I laughed and said "then I would be cahrged with a preventable!" IMO he may have whacked a car and wanted to hide the evidence from the cops and his company. -
Onward with my boring thread!
A week or two ago I messaged my DM about how OTR sucks. I asked about regional dedicated or running shuttle.
My truck went to Volvo in Nashville. When I got out the "shuttle commander" (my nic for him) called and asked me to do a shuttle run from Oak Grove KY to Indy. I had turned him down in the past. (WTF was I thinking!) He had me meet up with another driver and we rolled. EZ money! The trip is actually about 600 miles up and back. It pays 522. He asked me to do the next day, same run. I took it. While waiting to start the next day he asked if I would go a Lavergne TN to Pendleton KY run. I accepted. got the weekend off. Did the run yesterday. I left at 4am to get to the pick up point. I dropped my empty and picked it up last night and brought it home. I really wanted to bob tail home. But with them calling for lots of rain? I wanted a trailer. Besides you never know when a plan might get yanked off you and you'll need an empty. He asked me to do this again today only starting at 15:00. I will be on that again!
I am just doing this to fill in for the regulars.
Yesterday I looked at the scale ticket. 33780 on the drives of a day cab. I scaled mine to be sure. I was 100lbs heavier on the drives and the gross! My 670 Volvo is light for what it is!
My DM wants to put me on Sears dedicated. More home time. Maybe same money. Probably more consistent money.
I had messaged break down about some issues last week about my truck. I was trying to get routed to Memphis. The sent me to Volvo in Nashville. They sucked. They got all my issues. I had them try and find the coolant leak. They said the EGR cooler was dry. I just checked and coolant is down again. I have been using 1 gallon every week and a half. They claimed the reservoir cap wouldn't hold pressure. I am not sure if they changed it.
On the down side is my clutch. Clutch brake is intermittant. I had them adjust it in July last year. 525K on it. The tech told me there was no more adjustment in it. Next time it's clutch.
We shall see.
