Award Winning Drivers can be described as many things lol.

Have you seen those trailers with the message: "Top Pay $0.57 Cents Per Mile"? They only need to pay one driver out of the whole company that amount and legally they may advertise that pay scale on their trailers.

Drive Life-- well there's not arguing that one lol, at least they are honest.

Get Home Weekly-- Is that like Jupiter where one week is like 2 of our months? lol

I dont drive for em but the pay is rediculus over there. How could you afford to buy food and essentials and still come out with those kinds of wages?

Could be worse, I was talking with a Covenant trainer last night, they pay him $0.29 cents per mile. He's coming up on his 3rd anniversary with the company in August.

1 year driver makes .33 per mile (anything over 300). .33 x 9000 miles per month = $3000. Roughly 2400-2500 net. Plus little extras. Highly doubt there is much disparity between carriers (If there was everybody would be there instead).

There are many people who can live on the above wages. Not saying it's great pay, but quit making it out like it is slave wages. Good luck finding a job at Lowe's or Home Depot or Walmart or the local grocer that will equal it. Especially with less than one year experience.

I have seen several drivers on this forum that have posted their Swift salaries and they are better than this number, too. As I recall several of them were closer to the $40,000 annual gross range and these were newer drivers.

It is odd how everybody acts like they have no choice in the matter. Taken straight from teat to the truck company for life! If a person does not like it, then take charge and do something about it for yourself and quit waiting for Jerry Moyes, Obama or whoever the heck else to make you more comfortable.

I have been one step from homeless with nothing more than my pick up truck and my stuff in storage and no job. I fought back one step at a time and reached the high life staying months at a time overseas and marrying my wife. Now I am back again to somewhere in between the two and still with my wife.

I am responsible for my well being, not some socialist commisar, union boss or capitalist industry leader. I am thankful I live in a country that lets me be responsible for me. And am ###### thankful for all the companies who offered me jobs when I needed them and chose Swift for my own reasons. And believe me I will make the most of it.

But that's just me maybe it's Easter Sunday and I am preaching. Doesn't make what I said any less true.

Well said! In addition to being condescending, BigShrek is using preconceived notions of drivers, to categorize and prejudge drivers before they even have the chance to prove him right or wrong, in his presumptions.

Perhaps it would be good for all office personnel to remember that without the drivers, THEY would NOT have a job.

It's easy to sit in an office day after day, without really understanding what a driver goes through on a daily basis. And it seems that the office personnel who haven't driven for a living, are the most condescending and disrespectful towards the drivers. But, even former drivers appear at times, to have forgotten what being out there on the road is all about. In this case, especially, it seems this way. They of all office personnel, should know not to prejudge a driver before they open their mouths.

This doesn't only apply to Swift, as these problems are evident and obvious in most large companies, as the larger they are, the more distant and removed they are in getting to know the drivers, and what they have to deal with.

Do you mean that as sarcastic, or do you think that is good money for 22years?

If you think about this. Another company pays $.38 with 1 year OTR. And safety bonuses based on miles driven, and fuel mileage bonuses.

Plus they pay PRACTICAL miles. So another 7-10% in miles.
