Binghamton NY. (or however you spell it).
I just got back from my 3rd trip to Canada. This one was filled with suspense, drama, oh and poutine of course. I crossed over at the Thousand Islands Bridge. First and foremost, it was picturesque and beautiful. Secondly and sadly, there was no salad dressing in sight. :(

What it has to do with it when you post that you was in the viet nam era someone like bumpy will read that and try to figure out how you wasn't in theater or country. It is confusing to someone to try to decifer it. I was in during the iranian hostage crisis as well and grenada, but was not in theater. I was stateside for those. That is why I don't say I was in the iranian era.

During my first deployment I received a combat patch because I was in a combat zone for 6 months. My second deployment was risky, but not in a combat zone as I did not get one for that deployment. There was units that was activated and complaining that they were activated for, but never deployed and they was stateside and they expected to get National Defense Medals and combat patches. There is criteria for patches as well as making statements. You stating you was in the viet nam era leads people to think you had boots on the ground.
