Uh-huh. Just about the time you doze off, that old QC will start beeping at you. If you ignore it, then your cell phone will start ringing. . .:biggrin_25513:

Do you get layover pay for not getting a load when you're available?..

I get detention pay per day that I sit...

I sat from 14:15 yesterday until 11:45 today, and then drove until 13:30 and have been sitting since. That should qualify me for 1 day at least if not 2. I am simply amazed that I can be 1hr from Cleveland OH and there is no freight...

Detention pay? Oh do tell. There is such a thing @USIT?

It's funny that detention pay, layover pay, breakdown pay, etc has been told to me second and third hand by drivers, not management. The information from the drivers is usually pretty god but its a huge red flag against the company.

If this continues I will have to start the count down click to departure. Tee minus......

It's very shady how they do it...The company feels if you get more than 2200mi this week then you don't need it, but from the weeks I have gotten it, it has been $120/day for sitting, same as breakdown pay. That's what it's supposed to be anyways...Didn't check my stubs while home as the wife and I spent all the time we could together while I was home, and I had a busy weekend.

I really think we should get it like all the other companies do though. We sit at shippers more than 2hrs we should get it...It's really bad that we have to sit, on duty, and not get paid for our work...

Just an update...You guessed it...still sitting here.

Sent a message in to FM this morning on the QC, and of course there was no response. I said well this thing must not be working because I ain't got a load or a response. So I emailed the FM. He says"I've gotten all your messages, but have you delivered the load from Canton(where I'm sitting right now). If so send in the proper macros."

I responded back" really...I sent you 2 macs yesterday that the load was picked up 2 days ago, and I can't send in the proper macs for the loads if there is no load to pickup." I haven't got a response yet.

Sometimes people amaze me. Hopefully he's just having a bad week and will progress out of this.

Doubt it. He sounds like the typical.moronic dispatcher for any big company.

They used to tell me every time it was close for me to go home that there was no freight headed in that direction. I live an hour from Chicago and about 30 mins from I-80. Also, I would run Illinois, Ohio, Indiana the first couple days back from home time.

So basically the "There is no freight" line is pure ########.

I have been so happy since I left!

Wonder if I have a letter in my post office box? I'll be checking when I get home next Wednesday.
