As soon as you said what you did and noticed your location, I knew what fleet you were in haha. I'm in the same fleet and Kyle was an ####### at times. This new girl Alicia is "ok" but I already had one headbutt with her.
My story starts here... Day after Memorial Day (May 31st?), I left my home for my next round of truck driving. A couple weeks ago they change the hometime policy I guess... My FM states its 3 weeks out with 3 days off. Well back in May I requested to be off 7/26, last week my FM called and asked if I could move to 7/28 even though we prefer to have weekends off, I told her i have 5 days off and she said ok and I also agreed with the 7/28 for hometime date. Today she says RTW Saturday... First off Saturday = two days off not three, and second I have five days no matter what. Finally agreed to take five days off then she says can you be back Monday, I say no. She says I'll be losing out on some money because good loads go out on Mondays. I didn't say this but, In my area good loads leave out of NE Ohio Monday-Friday... you just have to find them. I had one load on a Wednesday go from Ohio to Texas (3 pickups = extra $60 in pocket). Anyways I just said "Oh Well" and that was that. This whole time I was sitting in Vandalia terminal thinking for probably about an hour debating whether I wanted to leave truck there (turn in keys w/ proper shop ppwrk) with no RTW date or go ahead and deliver this load in morning and go home and deal another three weeks. I think I might have thrown in some I guess I'll have to go look at other companies now, but not sure if she caught those... Maybe she'll read this? I dunno, I'm sure there are some companies suits that read this but whatever, I don't care anymore haha. I usually keep my stories fairly vague or dated, but whatever :/. Then yesterday I got a load to Missouri... I was already in Ohio no way in hell am I going to leave the state border that close to my hometime. I could understand getting a load up to buffalo or somewhere in NW New York, because I can just drop in the ABF in Parma, OH. But she got me relayed... and this load delivers tomorrow but tried to get in today but they didnt' have room for the load.
My new fleet manager really isn't going to like me now because if I'm not home by lets say... 11amish I am taking an extra day, don't really care what company policy is. If they want their truck back, I'll take it to them. These next 5 days I'll be driving to a few local companies i checked with before USA and said they'd hire me after one year. Well my year with the company was 7/22. And if this little bump in the road makes me get ###### runs for the next couple weeks I WILL park this truck...
Like I said in various other threads.... Hometime is not GIVEN to us, we EARN it and we should be able to take it whenever we need/want to as long as it doesn't exceed five days.
I feel better
, but still pissed

You know, I've been reading threads the past few days, thinking about USA. I'm not going to let them dictate my future by allowing them to rattle me so bad I make a hasty decision that they can use against me. I laid down my feelings with weekend dispatch last week and I have been busy every since.
If your fleet manager its trying to squeeze you regarding home time and you allow it, shame on you. We earn our time off. They want us to go home on the weekends only, banks and other professional people are only open on the weekends? Our children only have school functions on Saturday & sunday? I'm not accepting that. As for the fm thing, my threads have only spoken highly of my fm, no problems with him. But the fm is not the only one pulling the strings here.
If your fm is being unreasonable, go around them. I'm learning that the rookie fm is the most unreasonable, my guy is a crafty veteran, he's the only reason I'm still here.
PERIOD!!!!! -
BTW, WV glad to see you here again. I followed you before I started here, you were gone then all of a sudden here you are. I enjoyed your early stuff. Unfortunately, things here live up to their reputation, you only see that after your committed and no amount of advice before hand can prevent this from happening to folks that won't listen.
Glad to see you, hope the best for you. -
Well all i can say is usa is not a bad company at all i was treated good in the begining but when me and my FM Kyle butted heads thats when the trouble started i bent over backwards for him did what he wanted but when i got in trouble with my logs thats when the ###### hit the fan! And thats when i started to run by the book he did not like it and made me pay for it. his words were"you bit the hand that feeds you" so no miles!
So I am hoping this is all
in the past and i can get back there domy job drive and get my miles, I am very greatful to usa they gave me my start!
As i said tomy wife this job is like CRAKE once you start u can not stop! What i mean is once you get the open roadin your blood no bosses looking over your shoulders no time clock to punch its very hard to get a normal job -
