I have enjoyed listening to Coast to Coast for many years. It can be difficult to get them on regular AM radio. I still miss Art Bell.

Yes G/Man...
I miss Art Bell also...
He reminds me of my early fun years of driving...when AM radio still ruled the night...
Back then I mainly drove West Coast...the desert areas...(11 western)...
I think that's how I originally got lured into his show...you know, driving at night, bored, channel surfing...then suddenly hearing someone make a comment about 'a witch'...and then keeping it on that channel and hearing the topic of 'witchcraft' discussed in a news type format...interviewer/interviewee...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fdl.glitter-graphics.net%2Fpub%2F122%2F122001zq6iktdohs.jpg&hash=207e9112f16a225f17fa4011d162a4a2)
Art Bell created a show that gave people from the 3rd rail of society, a platform on which to discuss their ideas, beliefs and view points...
And he did it during a time when it forced many to question or come to terms with their own beliefs or ideas about life...
Some considered it out right blasphamey that he would give these guests a platform inwhich to discuss their views...
Society, back then, was still kind of 'Christian' by default...the way Pakistan is Muslim by 'default'...and many of guests on that show challenged peoples notion of right and wrong and so forth...
The interactions of the callers back then, and some of the guests, were very interesting, and can never be replicated, cause times have changed...
The shock value thing isn't there anymore...
Coast to Coast is tame now, compared to what society has been exposed to since...
And this was only back in say the late 90's to early 2000's...
That's how fast society, and the media have changed...
Fast forward to today...and I think todays show, still rides on those early years that Art Bell did...name recognition thing...
If George Norri were to start his own show, and call it something else...I doubt it would do as well...Although by now he does have a bit of name recognition as well...
But nothing will ever creep me out like those earlier shows...when alone in truck, parked or driving in the desert somewhere, and having a guest play witch spells over the radio...summoning the dead...
That was to much for me one night, and had to change the dial... -
Art Bell always had a way of presenting things that would engage you. Whether he believed in what his guests professed or not he always presented a good show and made his guests feel comfortable.
Lil'Devil and ghostchild Thank this. -
I think the show is too politic now the core of the show doesnt grip me like the old one but thres been times where there is good talk with Norry and then a half hour of commercials the same ones over and over it kills my tuning preference and i switch to music and try to switch back to when they talk again and i eventually lose interest in the show itself not the content. There was a great show in the hispanic culture called La Mano Peluda "The hairy hand"the name being taken from a legend of a vengeful severed hand that was said true in 1895.Anyway the show dealt with exorcisms, poltergiests, hauntings, and the occult mainly rarely ufos or bigfoot. There were narrated stories wich kept you jumpy and also callers sharing their own ghostly encounters. There were live exorcisms of people wich were #### believable and stories about people that made a pact with Satan and OMG if you understand spanish you can find all these on you tube.Juan Ramon Saenz the host died of a misterious illness last month he was 46.We need something like this on the Sirius right? In english of course. It would be a smash hit no doubt.

The Spanish show sounds interesting. I found Coast to Coast traveling at night, much like ghostchild. It was one of the few shows that I could find on AM radio as I cross the country. I prefer AM and talk shows rather than FM. I do wish I could keep the signals longer on AM. I think that AM radio is the main reason so many truckers got into country music. That was about the only thing you could get on the radio back then if you traveled cross country. WSM in Nashville could be heard about all over the country.

They need to get rid of that nutcase Richard C. Hoagland. Nothing he ever says can be or has been proven. He has a grudge against NASA but talks as a NASA PR operson and uses their data when it suits him before bashing on them again or casting doubt all for his own personal ego, selling books and seats at his appearances.
Another annoyance is Joshua P Warren. If you are a podcast subscriber, you can listen to all his Coast appearances and clearly hear that he constantly exaggerates and lies over and over again. So much has happened to him on his ''investigations'' that one can surely doubt he is a credible guest, like JC or UFO Phil.
George can be pretty dumb sometimes. I smell an affiliation with George and the NRA and the show somehow as he is pro-gun and so are his guests with no anti-gun debater ever. But that's no more urgent that kicking Hoagland and Warren off the show. -
I stopped listening to Coast to Coast after I heard some of the show where supposedly there was a microphone lowered into a hole thousands of feet deep and you could hear the people in hell screaming. I couldn't handle that and I am very scared of things like that. Since then I have lost interest. I can handle the shows on Aliens and the sort but not that.

That was my wife's favorite program! She would drive the night shift just so she could listen to Coast to Coast. I think to this day that is what she misses about driving the most! Nothing like driving across 80 in NV at night listening to George Nory talk about aliens!
