The testing to actually get your cdl is done in your home state. Once you get through with your trainer you will test out with someone from Millis at a terminal.
-
So let me get this straight. 3 weeks at the terminal and then you take your CDL test? Then 5 weeks with a trainer. Who will take you to the DMV and who's truck will you use to take the test?
-
Not to speak for Bear, but from what I read on the Millis site, I think you need to get a CDL Permit for GA and then you take your CDL Road Test in GA with one of their trucks.
From what I have been told you do not want to take your road test in SC. Unless you are absolutely flawless on your Road Test in SC they will fail you only to make you re-schedule and have to pay the testing fee again. It is all about the money in SC. -
Yeah SC is like that. I was just wonder how they do their CDL. I have to decide between this company or one other company. I am going to apply to this company tomorrow morning.

Hey Krazi...after you spend 3 weeks in the school, then you go with your otr trainer..While you are with him. you make your appt at the DMV...in your home state... and your trainer will take you there to take the test in his truck. Your test should be scheduled 3 to 5 weeks into your otr training so you have time to get comfortable driving the truck. Hope this helps.

Thank you for correcting me on this. I would not have thought that a student would have gone out with the trainer with just a permit. This would make it easier for the student. My statement on SC and road tests is very true, but I am sure you are already aware of this too.
Thank you -
Yea what he said.
