Anyway, the road is my passion....Last edited: Aug 31, 2011

Actually, it's probably how we all drove back in high school... -
hello...another full day...I see so much through out the course of a work shift...just like you all do...combined, we have seen the world...
But I have so many photos, and so little time to share them...so I combined a few here...I have them numbered and will explain each beggining with...
1. I believe this was in Arizona...on I-10...West of Pheonix...dust devils are very previlant along this stretch of desert...you can often see dozens of them off in the distance dancing...
I don't know if this driver was aware of how close he was to it...most drivers seem to only look straight ahead, and as such miss out on a lot...
2. Same dust devil...or baby tornado...very impressive...very large...
Not sure what causes these things...but they can pack a wallop...
I watched as one went right through a Petro...and none of the drivers even noticed or cared, or weren't on their radio's when I warned them...todays driver is very distant, to themselves...so so sad...
3. I took this one today...just miles and miles of nothing, desert...and the road stretches as far as thy eyes can see...
A photo does not do the scene scape justice...a photo cannot capture the sheer magnitude, scope, and size of this SW desert terrain...
And there are distant homes scattered deep through out the landscape...I can only imagine how dark and quite it is at night...
4. And believe it or not...out in the middle of nowhere...I spotted a truck driving school...amazing...I guess you have to fly in by helicopter or something...cause once they have you, your there...
Anyways...just wanted to share a bit of what I see throughout the day...it's no wonder I'm often left feeling intellectually numb at the end of the day...seeing the awhness of the open desert often shrinks any issues I thought were important earlier...
Back soon...maybe one more time before I crash...zebcohobo Thanks this. -

For me, it's exciting to watch the road, the scenery and other vehicles as I drive by... It's exciting to see things in movement and keep on moving... I like the sound of the engine and like to feel its power
Whether I go fast or slow, it doesn't matter. When I drive, I enjoy the "connection" I get with the truck, it's some kind of "relation" human being and machine...
-
Before I get on to other things...
Your comment conjured up this image in my mind...the connection between man and machine....
(now just general thoughts to everyone)
I find other people and their thoughts totally interesting...
Some may find me interesting...but I find them equally as interesting and dynamic....
Here are some basic qualities I've noticed about those who come here and stick around regularly...
1. They are tough....very tough on the inside....
2. But they are also very kind and understanding...and have a level of depth to them....
3. And they are curious...and want to learn....in other words...they are not done growing....they still want, and are willing, to learn stuff about others, and the world around them, in a non-judgemental way...
It's that 'still wanting to learn' that keeps them all young on the inside...and beautiful in my mind...
They have all seen the best and worst of myself...
And instead of judgeing or condemning...they hug and comfort, in their own type of way...
Rare indeed...for anyone can extend grace and kindness to 'normal, mainstream souls'...that's not hard to do at all...
But it takes a special kind, to do so to emotionally flawed kindred.
I notice those who are drawn here have a special or different appetite...
Misfits of sorts, maybe in their own ways....but loveable ones...
They are not afraid to love, or to be loved by a soul like mine...
And they appreciate honesty....
Sometimes I can be honestly clumsy...like Kristy on 3's company...
but that provides for humor at times...much needed humor and relief in a hard world...
I don't take my regulars for granted...not at all...for they have prooven they have the staying power to stick around...
And that's all any of us really want in life...is to know someone will always be there for you...through the good and the bad, the happy and the sad...through successes and mistakes...at the end of the day, it's just nice to know that that one person will always be there for you...
And I thank my regulars for that...I may provide a service for you...but in turn you provide a big one for me....and I too am growing and still love to learn...it's the 'ghostchild' in all of us...
Anyways...time to get up and hit it....
But first I want to leave ya with a korny 1980's song...'Solid'...I think one of the members of this group, or the one who wrote this song just passed away...
Anyways...put on your bell bottoms...for this oldie but goldie is for you, my regulars...for being Solid as a rock....
(coming soon, I'm going to match each of you with Hollywood characters you remind me of...) I love all of ya, and thanks for being out there, in whatever capacity you can...

My regulars, know, have seen, and are still willing...solid....
