The one on Statesville Ave.?

 

Unsafe is an understatement about that place. You can be robbed, stabbed, shot, propositioned, offered a drug deal, and have your truck stolen, all before you even set your brakes.

But, I did see in the news where there was a fire at a gas station at that corner the other day. I assume it was that Pilot if it's closed.

 

As far as I know, most drivers try to stop on one side of the city or the other. I see quite a few trucks camped out in the Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Buffet place overnight while they catch some Z's before going through the city. I didn't even know they still had a truck stop in Charlotte.

 

Good riddance. I had to stop there for fuel, once, as it was my designated fuel stop. I've avoided it ever since. I went in to use the restroom after fueling, and they had no privacy doors on the stalls. Like I'm gonna sit out in the open to tinkle! Sheesh!

 

I just went by there, its all "police taped off". You can still go there and park but i live here in the area and i wouldnt do that. Its bad when there is security from CMPD, But now there isnt any and that cant be good....

 

Had a pick up in Concord, thought I'd stop in and grab some fuel there (it was an optimized fuel stop anyway) but all closed up and dark. Very eerie.

Fire on Monday.

They've actually done a little to try to clean that place up lately. Cops stationed there all night nowadays. They typically run the riff raff out of there regularly too. I go by there for coffee on occasion and while the clerks are slower than frozen molasses, they are at least attempting to clean it up. Still, too small.

 

Yeah that pilot has always been a hole. I've never stayed overnight there as its real close to home. If you have the option, the pilot in Kannapolis is alot better.
