Current Drivers - USA Truck

    I don't want a trainer that shows me how to illegally fill out my logs. Given all the time and money I have invested in this, I would prefer to learn the correct way of doing things. I don't want to driver 13 hours straight and learn how to document it so I only drove 10.

    Racing is just saying that sometimes you may have to fudge here and there so you can get to your destination and still look legal. I've only fudged a little here and there and that was just so I could get home, any other time USA had to reschedule my delivery appointments and sometimes they wouldn't and I'd get screwed because night/weekend dispatch are lazy.

    I don't have to worry about that anymore.. I run local :). Still run a log book, but don't really need to worry to much about my hours, especially since I can "work" within a 16 hr period once a week. All I have to worry about are my weights... *whistles*

    I get that logic. But my trainer was ALWAYS running on illegal logs, mainly driving hours. I'm not naive. I know sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get the load delivered. I just don't think that a trainer should be showing his trainee the wrong way to do things right off the bat. From day one, I was shown everything his way. Not the USA way or even the legal way. It was all his way.

    It's hard to get a straight answer from safety on how they check logs. I understand they check 10% of logs against Q-com GPS records, but I admit I am only going by what Gary in safety at Vandalia told me. If this is correct this trainer one day will get caught. I just hope till then this trainer is not involved in a bad accident.

    I never changed fudged mine any, just knew how to get more miles in a day the legal way on paper(which isn't illegal, just think about it and learn the proper way to get more miles).

    Now I am on E-Logs so it is what I drive. If I was solo I would hate it. Luckily I am teams now so it isn't so bad when I have a co-driver that can finish a run if I run out my 11 or 14.

    As far as what they check, they can check it all, but mostly check your fuel stops and as long as they are kosher they trust you are logging legal.

    I had a few drivers from USA swear they cheated extreme, and never had a word said to them. But who knows.

    You know I think you might be right. There are somewhere around 2300 to 2600 logs a day on average going into the system there a day. I think there is only 6 people watching the logs. The math would seem to work to the cheaters favor here. USA Truck uses RAIR systems to manage the logs, but I don't know if they also do audits.

    Since USA uses 'short miles' shorting you about 9% each trip, just tell the officer you log driving on-duty paid miles only the rest is my donation of time and my own fuel to this wonderful company that shorts your miles...see how far that logging paid miles argument gets with a trooper. LMAO. Short miles is the biggest scam in trucking!

    How do you know that? I've been a company driver here for 19 years and I don't know that. Maybe I just haven't been paying enough attention, huh? Or maybe you just believe everything you read.

    By short miles do you mean HHG miles? Or are you saying that USA Truck takes the "real" miles and then shaves off 9% to cheat you? I've run well over 2 millon miles for USA Truck and have been paid correctly by the HHG, the industry standard, for every single mile. I would prefer that the Rand Mcnally MileMaker Practical Routing System were the industry standard but, alas it is not. Are you positive that this is a scam? If so I think it is your duty to alert the authorities!:pottytrain5:
