yep they let him stay and take it again and again and again and again ect ect....they finally passed with my class. He was one of them guys who thought disrupting the class and not taking anything serious was funny. He wont last long on the road, so im not worried about possibly being beside this guy at some point.

I took them up on the $995 tuition, costed total of $1040 after finance charge plus another $110 cash on arrival for physical and admin fee.
I am currently on day 12 in Burns Harbor. I CDL test in 4 days. I spent thanksgiving here. It's been a very demanding course, but I can honestly say that 95 percent of what I have read about CR Englands training course on this site has been WRONG. They are cramming what normally takes 4-6 weeks into 16 days, keep that in perspective.
You have to be a motivated self starter to pass this school. You have to make sacrifice, that means staying up late studying, have a humble attitude and learn to fit in with all sorts of people. You can't fall asleep in class, you can't have attitudes with the people. You can't do drugs or drink, and learning to clean your piss don't work, lost 4 people the first 3 days due to hair follicle surprise test the 2nd day we were here but they all passed the first piss test. Lost a few more due to lack of paperwork, etc. Follow the admissions guide and bring what they ask to avoid this.
If you can't do any of the above, stay away from here. This is an adults world, no room for mamas boys. Do I sound rough? If you don't meet the above save your money and time. Only you know if you can handle rough conditions.
But it's one of the very few places that (if you apply yourself) you can have a CDL and a job in 16 days. Some people call it a CDL mill. I have a hard time understanding this statement,,,,, I still had to go to the DMV and test like everyone else??? -
CREngland, and other company sponsered schools, and alot of CDL schools train you for one purpose. That is to be able to pass the CDL exam. Both written, and driving parts. Those schools are for nothing else but that. What you need to be very careful of is that after you pass the test you don't hook up with a company with bad trainers.
The Challenger Thanks this. -
Believe it. And that is part of the CRE scam- they are paid by the government (from a verity of different programs) to train students and then they charge the student. So long as the student is willing to stay in the hotal/dorm/whatever, get up at whatever god awful time and go through class, they will let you stay. They do not get paid by the government until after you 'GET' a job. I knew 2 students who were there for months cause they could not pass road test. However when I went through they booted you if you did not pass the written on the second try.

Well, upon reflection of what I wrote in this thread a couple weeks ago to what I know now,,,,, I will update in an effort to try and spare anyone else who may be considering attending here.
I can't give an accurate number because it depends on if your from Illinois or not, but the Illinois side of it had a 75 percent failure rate in my class.
Our class started out with well over 100 people ($995 tuition special). After we crammed for our permits (we lost about 20 percent right there) then they segregated us, if your from Illinois you went to a different program, rest of 47 states tested with Indiana.
Us Illinois students were about 12 left after the first week. When we tested the DMV only 4 of us passed. The rest went home for failing.
That is not good odds. It's not all Englands fault either,,,,, the Illinois CDL test is a real be ach. England don't prepare the inexperienced driver enough in this short 3 weeks to pass that tough exam. -
Ummm, you might wish to clarify a couple things in your post.
1- I am guessing that you mean 'contiguous states' when you say that IL is different from the rest of the "47 states", as IN will allow any licensed driver from the other 49 states and also U.S. territories and possessions. They will also honor the liceances from some European countries, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. In fact IN, along with many other states make it a point to not deal with those from IL as it regards CDL licenses.
For that you can thank your former Governor who was selling CDL licenses. This is illistrate just how unhappy the rest of the states are with the state of IL.
2- The test is VARY different from what everyone else must do. Allowed far fewer do-over's. Though when I went through if you had to take over you got to start from where you failed instead of starting over from scratch.
3- When I was there at least, the IL's had to test on a 10speed and were trained on 9's. I know 2 students that were hosed on that.
I seem to recall that the IL numbers were the same as what you have noted though I think there were only 12-14 in my class. Just so you know the numbers are not that good for the IN side. At least first timers.
CRE is a mill and it is all about numbers. Your biggest worrie should be who you are going to have for a phase 1 and 2 instructer. I would plan for the worst and pray for good. I got WAY WAY lucky with my P-1 trainer. I know 4-5 at least who did not get so lucky, and this is not including those I met on the road or at the hotel who were not nearly as fortunate as me. -
I joined free school with 2yr contract with cre. wish me a luck
-
OMG! Wish you luck h___, more like pray for your soul and credit score. Would like to know if you had to say you would lease from them?
-
we wish you luck. DON't fall for the lease deal
