I never had a problem getting miles, layover or pay for anything else while I worked for Conway. I had two dispatchers, the first one was SO wonderful and the second was great as well! The problem I had here was with the use of super single tires and tag axle trucks. They are unsafe to drive in any type of precipitation. It got to the point where I felt like saving a dollar was worth more than my safety to CWTL. It's ridiculous that the only way to stay safe would be to pull over because the roads, especially in Texas, are simply wet. On the plus side, we run air freight now, same miles and half the work!!

To any new drivers considering Conway Truckload. Dont go there!! The miles that you will get will be very poor. You will average about 1800 to maybe 2200 miles a week. Thats just $540.00 to $660.00 a week, BEFORE deductions. And remember, you will be working 7 days a week, up to 14 hour days to make this kind of money. Yes, even with low miles, you'll still work alot, i.e. layovers, short hauls with several stops, waiting for sometimes a full day for the next load, taking hours and hours to load or unload you, etc. Yes, you will get detention pay and layover pay; the problem with that is that we are only talking $20.00 to $60.00. I know that other drivers in here that work for Conway Truckload are posting that they are getting good miles. Well, every driver that I have personally talked to is complaining about the same thing. And that includes drivers that have been with Conway for many years. I have never been late on a load and I have a perfect safety record. I have spoken to my fleet manager and nothing has changed. Thats why, after hanging on for 9 months, I had to leave. There are plenty of other companies out there that will hire you in a second; take advantage of this.

That is absolutely ridiculous. If a driver is willing and able to run and is treated like this then I would strongly suggest heeding your advice.Conwaygirl Thanks this.

Envious Are we???

I just do my job here like i have for the past 1.3 million miles, might want to ask my former fleet mgrs if im a "sweety" -
Even if this were true, being that you work here, you
Must know that this is not the norm for most drivers here. But, I seriously doubt you can be home every weekend and get those miles. (unless you are on a dedicated run) The planners that we have aren't capable of giving those kind of miles consistently with drivers that don't see their homes for a month or more, much less someone with regular hometime. -
Then you know someone or something that I dont. Or do you work in the recruiting department?
