Just wondering where you got that info. Sounds illegal to me.

You should also consider Maverick as they are looking to expand their fleet. Pay is good and they treat us good. They don't like for us to idle but understand that we have to sometimes. We are driving brand-new Cascadias as well with epu's and inverters in them.

Sounds illegal to me too. Nobody gave them the authority to be judge and jury. They have a right to deny a bonus, reprimand or fire you. But dipping their fingers in your paycheck over an industry normal standard is absurd.

The trucks computer even has an idle shut down option. Why ain't they using it?

I believe I would be filing a complaint with your state DOL/ wage and hour division. Sounds like a class action lawsuit IF what you say is true and I stress "if".

But then again drivers willing to drive for .25/ mile, you can be suckered into everything. :)

That is like Mesilla Valley that takes away your health and 401K if you don't maintain 13,000 miles a month. Someone needs to grow a pair and stand up to these idiots.

Maverick has a reefer division and Maverick is an excellent company! New trucks with APU and inverters...They have been excellent to work for. I am on the flatbed side...but the reefer side is excellent as well.

The Mesilla sounds like team. Still that is rather subjective. What if they don't have the freight?

Your green book of DOT regs.......392.4 (I think) You can't be fatigued and drive. Illegal for you to do it, illegal for them to try and make you do it.

Swift had 2 people die in their Phoenix terminal from the heat and not idling. One was missing for a couple of days. His wife called looking for him. Turned out he was in the yard, and had already "exploded." :biggrin_2557:

when i drove for shaffer, i was in a cascadia. it had the battery packs for the air/heat in the rear. it did ab ok job keeping the bunk cool, but if it was really hot out, you would have to idle to keep cool. they like your idle to be at 30 percent or less (that is what it was when i was there). driving during the day and sleeping at night was the best option for me, that way in the heat of the summer you wont be burning hot.

I asked a driver from stevens about getting on with them and he said that you have to go out with a trainer, even if you are experienced.:biggrin_2553:
