If you are new, being able to get your first job is always pretty big. Make sure to search the forums for the good and the bad of Schneider trucking.

My only concern is anytime i hear Wal-mart. Their distribution centers are notoriously horrible. And their stores can be just as bad at times. Having delivered to many of their stores, i would say Schneider trucks would be better off since they wouldnt be delivering to the food side of the stores which can add hours of wait times if you show up at the wrong time of the morning.

I dont have any experience with DC, but even as a day delivery driver, even I know dealing with Wal-Mart DC's can be particularly brutal. The wait times can be REALLY long. Some of the others here would know way more about it than i would of course...

    jkd1118 Thanks this.

The warehouse is in Wintersville, OH. Double check with them but all the ads around here say, "Must live within 50 miles". They do slip-seat on this account. We have a driver that was a trainer for that account working for us. Shoot me a PM if you have questions about it and I will pick his brain:biggrin_2559:

He would be delivering to the food side. The account is for the grocery DC in Wintersville,OH. But I heard the stores treat you well when you pull in(see my other post in this thread):biggrin_25525:

I would think Schneider would be drop/hook at Walmart. I don't know if I would enjoy running across PA everyday? I like flat ground every now and then. :)

I used to run right past that DC in wintersville going to a coal mine I hauled out of, where do they take that stuff to, all over PA and OH?

Just from reading what others have had to say about Schneider, I would bet that dedicated job is gone when you get to orientation. Miraculously though, they can send you OTR.

There is no warehouse in Pittsburgh, it's Wintersville. They say Pittsburgh because it is the closest big city.

Not on the grocery side. They are multi-stop loads. Plus, running out of Wintersville, they only cover western Pa. Bedford DC covers centeral and eastern Pa
