last year in they were cracking down on motorcycles for loud pipes where i live, they had decibel meters they were checking bikes with. the problem is a stock HD barely would pass the test.

Well I know down in Miami its that way, as in if they can hear your exhaust from a block or so away you'll get a ticket.

I live in Putnam county Florida, Its a little hick town I'm from. There you have county cops and city cops that ride around in their personal vehicles that have basically straight pipe to glass packs. One officer I'm friends with bought a 2012 silverado with the 5.3 and took the cats off and put long tube headers on, no cats, and ran pipe into dummy mufflers. Basically it looked Like a big muffler but if you look inside, its straight pipe ran through. You wanna talk about a loud truck, lol. But he was a road deputy, who was gonna write him a ticket? Lol

It's illegal to modify the original exhaust system to be louder than it was when the truck was built... period. Federal law.

Notice this guy is out west. Guys that use these in the city are complete idiots. Although this one sure does sound good.....

Nice signature.... but you should realize that the truck had MORE than 18 wheels, so the sign did not apply to him :biggrin_25523:

Guess I spent too many years driving the old 8V71's; I find nothing appealing about loud pipes/jakes.:biggrin_25513: Especially if the Yutz is cranking em going through the park lot in the wee hours or through a residential area.:biggrin_25516: We got enough folks that hate trucks.
