I quit a 36k job to come into the trucking industry.
I happened to pick a company where you are only a number.
They won't pay detention (as they claim)
Reimburse scale tickets unless u ask and over 38k.
I just delivered a high value load where I had to run the
1st 200 miles non stop then the next 400 over a three day
A weekend. Fri, sat, sun and deliver on Monday morn.
I couldn't stay in one place longer than 10 hrs so a reset was
Out of the question. And now I'm waiting at a shipper again
For 3 hrs for a drop and hook that was suppose to be ready.
So for 4 days now I'm averaging less than 60 bucks a day.

For you new drivers out there. Don't come here!
Don't do it! I'm moving on as soon as possible, nerver, never to look back!

PS. I have had just two jobs in the last 30 years, so I know how to
Put up with some crap!! And I won't be putting up with
USX much longer than I have to...

How come you can't stay in one place for more than 10 hours?

You mean USX won't pay for a scale ticket unless the load is 38k and over? What,do they think anything under 38k is considered legal on all axles?I'd be raising cain. They don't give you much for miles do they. You have an excellent work history,if you have more then a yr under your belt, there are lots of much better companies.

The sad reality is that USX solos pick up and deliver team freight. Or on the other hand....what you just did. Don't give up, trucking can be rewarding and living in Irving you have many options to choose from.

I've heard that,USX is hireing more and more teams and getting away from solo loads.

A rookie, the poster, I could understand being "nervous" about a load not scaling 38,000...

38,000 - 40,000 is my cutoff as well when it comes to not scaling. I'll go 40 if I see the load & close the doors on it. It's a judgement call with experience...but come on after 8 years your willing to raise cain for 38K?...Really?

They have been doing that for years. They only advertise for solo positions to get drivers to apply.

I weigh all my loads regardless of weight. Had a bad experience a long time ago when I first came into trucking.
