I wanted to provide some update about this program. I made the decision to go to Sage after researching this site. Thanks to all who provided help and insight. I talked to other schools also. When I talked to the people at Sage Indy, I was not pressured or given a sales job. The manager there spent 2 hours answering all my questions. He also pointed me to the Work one center where I have received financial aid to pay for the school. After completeing week one of class and listening to the students and driver trainers interact that are in their driver part of class everything is going as described. Class is slow lot of info to absorb. Classroom instructor is very insightful as having been a trucker for ten years and keeps things lively.
I can tell from the driver trainers interactions that they really want the students to be successful. I do my first drive tommorrow! Can't wait! Big plus in my book is the one to one driving sessions with the trainer. Class is four weeks in length. They also have other options.
We also have had several recruiters.

Hi, I'm up here in Fort Wayne.
I can go to C-1 up here. Or down there. Could you write about how long your driving sesions are? That way can get more of an idea of which one to go to.
Also do they have a motel for students to stay in? -
Apologize for the delay, got sick. Driving times are set up in four hour increments and can be in the evening after class or on the weekend during your first two weeks of class. This helps you be able to get done in 4 weeks. The one on one work with a trainer is great so far seems to be getting me prepared to past the CDL test. Which by the way is all a school is going to be able to do. They have you ready to be trained.

You go sick of school?
Great when you drive the first week in? Up here at C-1 they make you wait untill the second week. Then that is only range time.
The third week is road driving, three per truck, 45 minutes a day?
Some of the ones going there are having a very hard time jpassing the state tests. -
No, I didn't get sick of school bad stomach flu. We get 4 hours of one on one driving time with an instructor, no one else in the truck. The instructors have been really good at teaching and explaining how the truck and transmission mesh depending on the RPM's. The hard part for me has been going from shifting without the clutch back to double clutching. (AG experience) This has caught be by surprise. Also the difference in trucks and how they shift. On Friday I logged 118 mi. driving in and around Indianapolis great experience and necessary since the state examine will be driving in Indy.

I am new and I am from Fort Wayne. I am going to muncie on tuesday of next weeke to talk to sage at ivy tech there in muncie. I heard not so good things about c1 here in town and heard good things about sage so i figured I would go down there and talk to them. Hank snow how are you liking it know. I am assuming you are about done.
WhereverIMayRoam Thanks this. -
hank snow,
Who did you talk to at Sage. Last year I talked to Bev I think.
She had me all setup to do some Driving only classes but I could not get financing. Well now I have the funds and the guy there is well being "hard to get along with" with me on the driving only. Just wondering who you talked with.
Thanks -
I didn't talk to Indy I talk to and went to muncie. I talk to carol at Muncie
They were really nice people there and the have change something I guess.
There's is 3 weeks and u gotta have ur permit before they will accept you.WhereverIMayRoam Thanks this. -
I went to Sage at Ivy Tech in Muncie. Great classroom instructor and the driving instructors are good guys as well.
They want you to have a permit before you start so they can schedule your driving time as soon as possible. No permit no driving time allowed. Plus you'll have enough work to keep you busy as is without trying to get your permit at the same time. GLJesusFreak and WhereverIMayRoam Thank this. -
