I have had loads of trouble w/my msg's. They reloaded some software on my unit...hasn't rebooted in 5 days, but, it sometimes takes HOURS to get any message back. And it's not the office delaying. The other day did a directions request... Over 2 hours later I finally got them. The next morning after I got out of the shop, sent in my 'ready to go' msg, almost an hour went by before 4 messages hit at once. I asked the A/M about the times he sent them...they were all sent within 15-20 minutes of each other...but then 40 min w/o a response from me. I thought it could be the sun-spots zapping things, but my q/comm has done that since new. So it must be this new cell-based system. I had heard that they are talking about switching back to people-net because of all the problems w/q-comm. The new trucks in Marietta have a normal cell antenna where our q/comm antennas use to be...not sure whats up w/that, thought people-net had a little cone/funnel shapped antenna

    JimBob24 Thanks this.

I chatted with a Poly driver the other day and I am gonna give them a jingle myself. I have a number of issues with Crete...Forced non-productive runs, 62mph trks, To many lap-over weeks (Get a load Tues that cant deliver till Sat), Home -Time, Stuck in the east for weeks on end. When telling the Asset Manager or Fleet Manager that I would like to get some western miles in....the reply is We Are Not A Travel Agency! My solution will be getting an orientation date lined up myself. This Crete outfit is not what it used to be.

Well, for not being a travel agency they sure do make me travel a lot. So far hometime has been spot on. Even when I requested some special arrangements to be with family at other locations (2 times). Made it to my grandbaby's house just after her entrance or exit....hmmmm? and a family reunion in the Show-me state. Unless I know of a reason to visit something enroute, I really try to deliver before a weekend. It has been around 50/50 successful.

I'm finally in Lincoln to trade off this truck that has been sold and to do orientation. I will say things haven't been bad thus far overall. Got home on time, checks are right. Been a little squirrely in that they've been trying to schedule my orientation at Lenoir City, and load schedules just haven't quite been able to match up, so I've had some short runs.

But once these next few days get done, I'll see how I'm really doing. I know my new truck will be 847nn, which I'm thinking is a Cascadia. Don't see it here on the yard as yet.

Great job! Maybe I'll see ya in the morning. I have to check in with Safety, get my motel room arranged, see if my truck arrives....but if I don't see ya, be safe, and the very best of luck to you!

If it's an 84### it isn't a new one. I am in an 85### and got it last Nov...so maybe you'll be in luck and get one that has the problems worked out by the previous driver. Plus truck numbers are random, two trucks sitting beside each other, one Freightliner the other International, could be 1 number different. All depends on how the system assigns them. Or, 1 truck inspected and numbered in Marietta, the next number could be in Lincoln.
